Skill level differential just seems too great tonight. Messi free kick was ridiculous. US needs a little moment of magic to pull one back.

Pretty sure down 2-0 35 minutes in wasn't on Klinsmanns PowerPoint slides for today

As much as JK bitches about the MLS he puts in 3 players that will never play any where else.

That was a real Roosevelt Lounge sequence for Wondo (I hope someone gets that reference)

People who went to the game at NRG feel like 2014-2016 Dynamo fans, accepting that they DID NOT pay good money to see the local team, but to see the visiting team.

Oh, what a coincidence, there's a Dynamo ad right now advertising the visiting players, instead of the Dynamo players. Come to BBVA to see Dempsey, Zardes, Wondo!!!

Acknowledged. Deric wouldn't be that dumb.

Question: What in the hell sparks a decision to trot out Wondo? Was JK taking the 'let's see what happens' approach? Yes, he is. It's as if he's playing powerball and thinking there's a chance.

That was a headscratcher from the beginning.

    3-0. We got nothing.

Please don't let it be 7-0 or worse!

I'm hoping we keep the scoreline respectable. Like around 5-nil...and there's zero sarcasm in that statement.

Unlike Chile, maybe Argentina will know when the horse is dead!

The one thing that always bothered me when folks are hand wringing over USMNT woes is that they always drone on about tactics and line ups. The true problem in my opinion is individual talent. Our players don't possess near the level of comfort and finesse with the ball at their feet or in passing accurately. Its glaringly evident and in full HD tonight.

Agreed. But the Wondo start didn't help.

No matter the opponent you should be able to string 5 consecutive passes together. Not sure if the USMNT has done that tonight. That's not good even if you don't lose by 7.

I hope the Dash USWNT players tweeting their love for Messi don't mind when the USMNT players do the same when Marta or someone score on them

Absolutely agree. That talent gap is no less important when defending. Not saying the outcome would have been drastically better but our players exert much more physically in the way they defend. You know the old saying, "work smarter, not harder". We've been forced to stress hard work over development and it still permeates our top level team.

At least houston showed up, too bad the USMNT didn't.

The crowed looked good, not alot of empty seats from what I saw. Pretty energetic crowd.

    Argentina vs US Comparison

    GDP Rank (Trillion US $) : 24 ($ 0.5) vs 1 ($ 17) US WINS!
Argentina corruption rank (score): 107 (32) vs 16 (76) US WINS!
Education index (score): 49 (0.54) vs 6 (0.79) US WINS!

Ran out of energy, couldn't go on, but you get the impression.

    Argentina can have soccer. Seriously.

Really? Please show, before they delete the tuit.

(although at this point, it looked like Marta could score on the USMNT as well!)

The good thing is that the younger players are showing promise. The national team needs to keep moving forward, and playing in these tournaments though. A great experience for the players. A very long ways to go, and too many old school US Soccer personnel are still in charge.
