Blackpool FC is an English Football team currently competing in The Championship. Some fans of Blackpool reached out to fans of the Dynamo to form an informal partnership between fans, based mostly on the two teams having a similar color scheme. In this thread, you will find score updates for Blackpool matches, as well as the occasional talk between fans of the teams about doing something for one another (in 2007, Dynamo fans, sent a care package to the Blackpool fans to have displayed at their pub). I'm glad you're keeping up with these threads. I don't really follow English football all that closely, but i like to drop in and have a look at how Blackpool is doing.----
The two palm trees are still in the main reception at Bloomfield Road, and the Dynamo shirt (signed by Paul Dalglish, who played for Blackpool previously) is due to be put on display in the Supporters Bar in the new South Stand once it is built! Piling work has apparently started now on the stand. It should be open for the start of next season (so August 2009). Up next for the Seasiders is the first West Lancashire Derby of the season against PKE. The match was moved to next Sunday with a 1pm kick-off by Blackpool Police and all town centre pubs together with pubs around the ground can only open 15 minutes before kick-off to avoid any trouble, by having fans in the ground earlier drinking where they can control everyone. Last season we beat them 1-0 away and drew 0-0 at home. Anyone who uses justin.tv there is a Mighty Pool page on there now, but as matches aren't shown live on tv (they are always filmed, with highlights shown on Sky Sports and ITV each week) it uses local radio coverage. However, our home match at Christmas against Wolverhampton Wanderers is being shown live on Sky Sports, so should be available in the USA. By which time the giant flag (approx. 42.5ft x 37.5ft) that has been ordered should be ready. Up The Pool!
Tomorrow (Sunday 16th) Blackpool play PKE at home in the first West Lancashire Derby of the 2008-09 season. There is a thread on the BFC forum on BS https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=838531 with lots of build-up to the match, which is for most fans of both clubs, the biggest game of the season. Unfortunatley it is an early kick-off at 1pm so will be very early in the USA. On justin.tv, Mighty Pool should have radio coverage of the game hopefully. Come on You Pool!

That was a good game. I wish there were some other men in orange playing now, it makes me jealous... Where were you getting that play by play from (on the other thread)? Were you cutting and pasting? Could you watch the game live somewhere? That would be cool... I've never gotten to see them actually live before.
We pay $80 annually to get PBP and sometimes a radio feed from the game (today there was no radio.) There may be other options, but I don't know what they are. Blackpool is rarely on TV. When they are, we have to hope we can find it on one of those viewer provided sites (I don't know all the technical stuff about this - I'm sure Art can explain it much better than I can.) We've only seen them play live a couple of times on the internet over the last few seasons.
So.... where does one get Sky Sports in the USA? I always assumed some of FSC's soccer games from Europe were Sky games, but not sure. So would the game maybe be on FSC? Surely not

Blackpool played Sheffield Wednesday this morning. The match ended in a 1-1 tie. This was the first game since manager Simon Grayson left for Leeds United in League 1.
