My rooting interests this week. CCL action: Royals over Tauro, why not? Metapan over Gals, just for fun League action: Reds over Crew, I'll just keep picking TFC DCU over Fire, tough call but if I have to pick a winner... Union over Royals, it would be nice to overtake RSL Impact over DCU, to make up for the Wednesday pick Revs over Crew, I guess Rapids over Quakes, not likely but I can dream Timbers over Whitecaps, meh Baby Goats over Sounders, it'll have to be 1-0 but that can happen LAG-FCD, nope, can't do it, I'll just ignore it Red Bulls over Sporks, solely based on standings
Big MLS game tonight with lots of implication for the Dynamo. Chicago is at DC United with a start time of 6:30 pm CDT. DC has a couple of players suspended (Boskovic and Dudar) so this should be even more of an interesting match. Both of these teams have games in hand on the Dynamo. Current East standings: 3. HOU 24 g.p. 40 pts 35 g. 4. CHI 23 g.p. 38 pts 28 g. 5. DCU 22 g.p. 36 pts 36 g. I'll be rooting for DC to win but a tie would certainly be OK.
Well, Chicago would pass us while DC would not. I like to keep teams behind us if possible. As far as the tie-breaker? I'm not that worried about it. There were zero ties in the standings at the end of last season.
Yeah but DC has two in hand, while Chicago only the one tonight. I would rather be a point behind and fighting Chicago then have DC win both games and end up two points behind a team that has scored more goals. As I said, I will vote for a tie with 6 red cards.
I just looked at Chicago's remaining schedule. It is pretty tough. @ dcu, HOU, @tfc, MON, CLB, @skc, PHI, @nyr, @ner, DCU 5 games against current playoff teams with three of those on the road. DC's remaining schedule: CHI, @mon, NYR, @rsl, NER, @phi, CHV, @por, @tfc, CLB, @chi Their schedule looks a little easier although they do have 6 road games. Maybe I do want Chicago to win this game.
to add one more reason for Chi; we get to play them one more time so we can control our standing against them a bit.

A Montreal win today is very doable, and I hope they get the result to keep D.C. behind us. Philly over Columbus would be good, though not as important. Looking for an SKC/NY draw. D.C. and NY also play in D.C. on the 29th, which will only help us no matter the result. We have a very good shot at finishing top 3, and even top of the conference if we take care of business.
