My rooting interests this week, or what's left of it: Whitecaps over Sounders, easy Reds over Sporks, we could use the help Impact over Quakes, you never know Revs over Fire, Chicago moving up Royals over FCD, easier Rapids over Goats , meh Union over DCU, why not? Timbers over Bulls, could happen

David Ferreira looks like he's back in form. The contrast between the atmospheres at RSL and Colorado is pretty stark.

Check out the highlights from DCU x Philly. Terrible officiating from Mark Geiger (although the reds are good for us) and all kinds of goofiness at the end.
I'm no ref but I was curious about the various no-goal calls and the red cards....looks like Geiger got those calls right, but apparently he got a lot of calls wrong that weren't on the highlights according to the pros on the Ref Forum. Need to go watch this game in full. DC's meltdown at the end was funny, though.
Peter Melton, the head of PRO, the new organization that runs refs, talks about Geiger and some other issues on the current edition of the MLS ExtraTime podcast. His tone alone is interesting. I'm sure his job involves defending refs and calls against a lot of criticism, but it's precisely when you're defending a position that you shouldn't sound defensive.
