Bruins stink it up vs UC Irvine giving up two PK's and a soft goal by Edwards 0-3 (set up after a weak tackle by Torre)

It doesn't get any easier as they face undefeated Cal State Northridge Sunday night.

Crazy game going in Charlottesville. NC State took a 2-0 lead. UVa tied it with 2 goals minutes apart, the latter in the 77th. The Pack went back up in the 87th only to see the Cavs tied it SIX seconds from the horn.

We're now headed to OT, 3-3.

UNC and VaTech are tied 0-0 after normal time. Only 5 SOG TOTAL! I'm a UNC fan, but this is ridiculous. 5th overtime game in 6 games for the season, and fourth straight. No great chances for the Tar Heels against a team that has given up 6 goals in its last four games. Ugh.

Meanwhile, if UNC is playing odds are it's headed to OT and sure enough, that's the case in Blacksburg, 0-0. 5th OT match in 6 tries for Carolina.

They haven't beaten anybody of note, but Wisconsin is 5-0-1 after thumping IPFW 5-1.

    0-0 after 1 OT for UNC@VaTech
Really don't understand a lot of these decisions by Somoano's guys. When you've only had 4 SOG through 100 minutes (and none were spectacular shots), why would you play a short corner that goes around the box and eventually gets cleared because you play a thru-ball against 7 defenders? JUST PUT THE DAMN BALL IN THE BOX!

UNC and VaTech tie 0-0 after 2OT. This UNC offense is even more painful to watch than last year's. 0-0-3 in the ACC.

Dayton is up late on Ohio State 3-0. If the Flyers hang on, they'll go to 6-0-0. Who saw that coming? Maik Schoonderwoerd, Dayton's 6-6 Dutch soph. MF, has a goal and an assist.

Cal State Northridge stays undefeated with a 2-1 win over UNLV. Sagi Lev-Ari scored his 8th goal of the season in thre 41st minute; CSUN outshot the Rebels 16-13.

Matadors are due for a letdown against UCLA on Sunday. They'll be getting complacent and the Bruins will be motivated after their loss to UC Irvine.

Cal is legit this year. Very exciting for us East Bay folks (ok, fine, me and Falvo) after the last couple of years.

UCLA is seeming to have serious defensive discipline problems so far this season. They have 3 red cards and have given up 4 pks in 6 games. They need to sort that out.

Final: Dayton 3 Ohio State 1. Complete domination by Dayton. They are an excellent team while OSU is simply hard to watch. If Bluem isn't on the hot seat I would be shocked. They are terrible!

Washington opens up the whoop-ass can on Florida Gulf Coast, 5-0.

Michael Harris, normally known for his flip-throws, scored 2 goals and Cristian Roldan, the only kid in college soccer with a shoe deal, had a goal and an assist.

The Huskies are now 5-0-1 and have allowed just 2 goals.

Cal Poly wins, 2-0, over San Francisco. 25 shots to 9. Goals by Chris Bernardi and CB Connor Drechsler. Justin Dhillon (Galaxy) had a nice assist to Bernardi. Ari Lassiter had a screamer shot off the crossbar in the second half. Hamilton only had 3 saves but a few of those were highlight reel saves. USF coach was carded in second half. Crazy attendance with students back - 4886. It was a great atmosphere, chanting thru entire game.

Chris Nanco with another goal for Syracuse. Brody Huitema is showing he is just as dangerous as when he played USSDA ball. Although I don't understand why he ended up going to Duke after he verbally committed to Stanford for a full ride scholarship... http://www.chilliwacktimes.com/sports/skills-draw-attention-1.423257

Re: Cal Poly-USF game, Justin Dhillon was credited with two assists. I should have also mentioned Cal Poly was facing GK Chase Hauser, who transferred to USF this year after being on Poly team last year.

TU only led 1-0 at the half after outshooting Valpo 11-0 (Cristian Mata hit the post).
The talent level on this team is really high... still don't think they've reached their full potential yet...
Conference play in C-USA should be a great test... one more tough non-conference game will be against Maryland at College Park a week from Tuesday on October 1st.

Bend it like Omar... backheel it like Cristian... http://www.tulsahurricane.com/sports/m-soccer/recaps/092113aaa.html
