Virginia leading Maryland 7-3 in the third quarter. Over 37,000 there in Maryland.

    Pretty cool stuff.

The winner of Virginia-Maryland will face Johns Hopkins in the final, as JH won the first game 19-8 with a 14-0 run after trailing 7-5.

Shame the Terps got waxed today - but I'll be up there on Monday for the championship. Don't really care who wins but its gonna be a heck of a game. Very good Hopkins offense against UVa's star keeper Tillman Johnson.

That could be a tough Monday morning TV choice, the into EPL playoff vs. Lax final.

Tillman should be worried. Hopkins did the same thing to Towson a few weeks ago. I hate to give props to boys from Gilman, St. paul's and McDonogh (I went to Loyola), but Boland, Ford and Benson are solid.

I think 37K on a rainy day today pretty much seals the games downtown for a while.

  6. Hopkins alum here. I loved seeing Hopkins blowing Syracuse away to avenge their only loss of the season. They really came on in the 2nd half after getting off to a slow start, outscoring Syracuse 13-1 in the 2nd half. That's a slaughter right there. Hoping they will win their 1st title since 1987. Should be a good one Monday regardless.

The final will be great, Kyle Barrie (JHU) and Foster Gilbert (UVa) both went to my high school. I didn't make the varsity team before my senior year so I never played with Kyle, but it's still cool.

Tillman played about as well as a goalie can play.

Some of his saves were way beyond what I expect of a goalie.

The field looked like they had a monster truck rally on it.

The Good Old Song of Wahoo Wah!
    We'll sing it O'er and O'er!
It cheers our hearts and warms our blood
To hear them shout and roar.
    We come from Old Vir-Gin-I-A,
Where all is bright and gay.
Let's all join hands and give a yell
    For dear old U-V-A!

This recent trend of the Terps losing to the Yahoos has got to come to an end. Hopefully on November 13th at Byrd stadium.

They are getting a FieldTurf-like substance before football season. And they have lax next year and want it forever.
