Wolfpack wins 2-0 on goals by freshman Santiago Fusilier and sophomore Aaron King. Frederico Peria had the assists on both goals.

The streak has finally ended! Their first ACC victory since 1999.

The Wolfpack looked great today. After a scoreless first half, which NC State dominated (especially in the midfield), they put away Clemson with two goals in the second half .

This wan not a fluke - the Wolfpack oushot Clemson 15-12. The Wolkpack goalie really wasn't tested in this game.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.........that is awesome. This just proves that any team can beat another on any given day. I keep hearing all this crap about NC State being the worst team ever, but beating Clemson 2-0 should be a boost for them. Poor Clemson.......HAHAHAHHAHAHA. That serves them right since all their fans who have never played soccer but live on this internet site do nothing but bad mouth the Furman program. Congrats to NC State!!

NC State posted a solid performance today. They were the better team. And they did it without Bryant Salter and Chiedu Chukwumah. This team isn't finished winning in the ACC this year.

K1v1n said it would happen this year and now it has - good call, man.

They've slowly gotten a little better and, let's face it, Maryland aside, this is a down year for the rest of the ACC as it is very young.

I wouldn't be surprised if Duke ended up being the program that went winless in the ACC this year so I could see the Pack getting another W there.

    Well well well,

So on the Furman thread you say you are too classy to bad mouth Clemson yet you come to talk to your buddies on this one and all of a sudden you're a comedian.

I think the Clemson coaches, players and fans will be the first ones to say it is an embarrassing loss. One thing about Clemson is that they always come back strong because they have more heart than any team in the country, not saying the best players, but more heart. (Many games to reference here).

Right now Clemson and Furman are struggling while USC are undefeated. The USC-Clemson game will be the real indicator.

Clemson certainly did not play to their ability today.
They couldn't get their offensive opportunities to pay off this afternoon. The team has several key players who are injured including forward Steve Rhyne and 2 GK's recovering from elbow and hand injuries, plus several others. As a result of this and the youth of the team, Clemson is playing with some seasoned players in new positions, and with most of the freshman getting time on the field which should help in the long run. Clemson should be stronger as the season progresses and players recover from injuries.

Aside from Clemson's disappointing play, a few other comments about the afternoon at NC State - the game started about 45 minutes late due to the fact that the field was not prepared, and grass had to be mowed and the field had to be lined. Stuff like that should not happen at this level, and certainly not in the ACC. The refs were also rather one-sided and let the game get out of control, by letting State foul at will, and by letting Coach George rant and rave on the sidelines, inlcuding in front of Clemson's side. He was extremely obnoxious and very unprofessional.

It's an embarrassing loss, no doubt. No hiding from me. I think great things are yet to come from the Tigers.

    1) the field not being prepared. It was unfortunate but things happen. My guess is the campus maintenance guys might have been preoccupied with cleaning up after the hurricane. It¡¦s never happened before - and I doubt it would happen again
    2)The ref one-sided?
Fouls totals: Clemson 19 NC State 17. Wow you are right - they WERE homered. :)

Admittedly it could have been more one-sided but the ref was letting the play continue because of the advantage rule. The tone of the game was set from the opening whistle - every time a Clemson player got beat (which was a lot) they grabbed, held or hammered State players from behind. The ref was consistent and let the teams play and both teams adjusted accordingly.

Regarding Tarantini¡'s behavior - guilty as charged.

Good thing for State that Chuck Amato didn't show up in the second half and start calling plays, otherwise, the Pack would have lost.

    one good thing

One good thing that comes out of this game is we appear to have some Wolfpack fans on the board which is great. When UMD played them last week it was clear they were improved over prior seasons, so Pack fans wave the banner high. We have a seven team league now.
