    off the purple line
I'm logged into NBC app with my DTV info. The games used to show up on the NBC Sports app right away, but the only games I was seeing on the app were Telemundo games. Also, I didn't go back to Peacock to check since I've been busy with Champions League matches, but Peacock did not include any of the weekend's games that aired on USA. I'll have check again. There is no option in the Peacock app to list cable/sat sub info. In the end, I just airplayed the Monday night match from my computer (USA web site) to my TV.

I understand why rights move around but looking at NBA, NHL, and MLB as a comparison, to be a fan of one of those leagues requires so many different subscriptions it gets ridiculous. I would think the leagues would worry about losing eyeballs but I have come to the conclusion that if the leagues get paid up front, they don't really care about game to game.

Yup. They'll take billions from Amazon, Peacock, Disney, etc etc before they care about making stuff accessible.

It'd all be so much easier if they all did what MLS did:

"Every NHL game will on the ESPN app with no blackouts. Occasional games will be simulcast on ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC."

"Most every NBA game will be on Amazon Prime with some games exclusive on ESPN or ABC."

You said it friend. The only part I quibble with is the bolded. Games involving my local team do get blacked out. Still, more often than not, the majority of the NHL games I watch are available on ESPN/plus.

USA games have NEVER been on Peacock, and now they definitely won't because USA is no longer part of the same company.
MLS disappeared from national awareness because of that deal.

With the MLS deal, there are no blackouts. If other leagues did similar, there also wouldn't be blackouts.

Was MLS ever on the national awareness scale? Yeah, they had games across a wide variety of national channels, but games never really got decent ratings on English-language TV.

The issue remains: The FanDuel channels probably won't exist by the end of May... but the RSN model will. All these baseball teams signing new deals with these "Team.TV" channels or even the San Diego Padres buying their FanDuel channel? Nothing's gonna change. YouTube TV, Fubo, Hulu, and the hundreds of other providers across the country will still need to sign TV deals and I don't see YTTV doing so.

Honestly, Hulu surprised me by signing a deal with Marquee and that's only in Chicago. (IDK how that'll work with VPNs.)

MLS did great by getting away from that. It doesn't matter how someone watches TV because every game is in the same spot. There's no more mid-season channel negotiations that cause a particular channel to be blacked out.

People have had 30 years to stumble across MLS on their TV and go to a game. If it didn't happen in years 1-30, it's probably not gonna happen in years 31-35.

I disagree and believe they did. It's just that it was never a sea change moment. The trickle of fans came along basically to replace the trickle that lost interest, with a modest overall growth.

So...the YouTube TV sports plan gives me NBC Sports Network, three channels of NBC Sports HD, and eleven overflow channels of NBCSN Extra.

Really interested in what that might mean for their plan going forward.

Because of "family dynamics", I'm gonna have to watch the "biggest match of the EPL season" streaming Peacock on my Roku, which sadly will be a solid 25-30 seconds behind NBC on my cable box.

Man I wish they would tighten that up one of these days! It really causes some spoiler issue if you're simultaneously on another device for stats or chat. I realize they like to build in a bit of buffered frames into streams, but how about 10 secs instead of 30? :whistling:

Maybe watch the game like an adult that isn't worried about chatting with other people online during the game or following fantasy stats to try and pretend you're part of it?

Replay of Arsenal-Newcastle still not posted more than 8 hours after the game has ended.

Paramount+ so much better with Champions League replays.

Why is Peacock so far behind?

Peacock is soooooo ass when it comes to airing replays. Zero reason it should take a day or more, but that’s how they roll.

Is it ever going be posted? The game was on USA only. And with their abysmal streaming platform (live-only, no rewind, no replay), I figured the only way to watch the game after the fact was to DVR it off of linear TV the old-fashioned way. Which is what I did.

I just figured that the abortion which is the fragmented EPL broadcast right in the US this season has led to many matches that cannot be watched after the fact, at least not legally or easily. Am I wrong?

p.s. I'm not saying that 100% of the USA matches aren't ever available on Peacock. But surely some of them are. This one in question is still not showing on Peacock, now >24hrs after FT.

My annual renewal date for Peacock is approaching. I see that its nearly 40% more expensive than a year ago ($109.99). Anyone discover any tricks to avoid the full price?

Normally I would just postpone renewing until next season and see if they throw me any offers in the meantime to try to lure me back. But the World Cup is about to start so that's not really an option I want to explore for more than a day or two.

Back around Thanksgiving I got $40/yr by doing a chat and getting a unique single-use promo code discount.

ps. Is NBC/Peacock useful for this WC??

If you just want to get through the WC, you could sign up for the 30 day trial of Walmart+ for $1 if you haven't had it before. That would include Peacock.

Do you have AppleTV? There's a bundle there if the Walmart+ plan doesn't entice you.

Thanks. Yes, I do have AppleTV. Sort of. I get AppleTV and Apple Music included through my credit card benefits (sapphire reserve). So, I have a suspicion the bundle won't work for me but I'll look into it.

NBCUniversal, Fubo reach new distribution agreement - Sports Media Watch https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2026/06/nbcuniversal-fubo-reach-distribution-deal/

English-language networks, including the primary NBC broadcast network, NBC Sports Network and its suite of RSNs, will be available on the service “in the coming weeks.”

(Compare that to traditional providers that seem to have channels back on within minutes.)

Just an update on the above:

I went to "cancel" my subscription and immediately they hit me with an offer for $49.99 per year. Needless to say I jumped on that.
