It appears that's Peacock Premium with ads. I'm strongly considering going ad-free and it appears I can't do that on an "as I need it" basis anymore. It'd be good to catch up on TV shows, but then I wouldn't need it if I'm all caught up.
Can someone explain why when I got home around 3pm and wanted to watch the Mancunian derby which finished around 2:30pm, and I went to open it in Peacock, the English version said "replay will be available shortly" whereas the Espanol version was immediately available. So I watched in Espanol which is not a language I actually speak. I can't imagine it's a rights issue that couldn't be (have been) resolved, so the only thing I can come up with is that the English version goes into GoalZone and perhaps when I tried to start it 5-10 mins after GZ finished they hadn't had time yet to package the replay?? But other streamers don't have this problem. For example matches on Apple+/MLSSP that just recently finished are easily available to start streaming. Now to finish on a more positive note, the Peacock app (for iOS) has this nice GUI feature of double tapping the right of the screen to do +10 secs and left side to do -10 secs. And if you double tap twice you get +20 secs. Brilliant! And immensely user-friendly.
Yeah that's what I had speculated above. But GoalZone was over by the time I went to start from the beginning. And even if it hadn't been over, why can't they just do like Apple/MLSSP does and let you start watching from the beginning even if the "broadcast" technically ended?
https://cordcuttersnews.com/nbcuniv...work-with-launch-of-a-new-nbc-sports-network/ NBC Sports Network is back! It'll be launching on YouTube TV and it'll be part of the Versant family. Hopefully it lasts longer than the relaunch of G4.
Interesting. I skimmed the article and noted that amongst many sports & leagues mentioned, the EPL wasn't one of them. I guess their plan is to have EPL on Peacock as close to 100% as they can? Assuming USA will continued to be phased out/down, and NBC flagship will still continue to carry the odd Sunday match?
EPL on Peacock makes sense in a way. "Every game. One location." If they're phasing out USA entirely (and not just for sports), that'd be a plot twist for sure.
I didn't mean USA was going away but that they might continue shifting more and more of the EPL away from USA. Just speculation on my part. And considering I still have cable tv (for the time being) I hope they don't. But...
One unwelcome development on the EPL world feed coverage (i.e, most of the games on Peacock) is that the announcers on this morning's 9AM Eastern matches (there were four today) gave the scores of the other simultaneous matches as goals went in. Previously the only time I recall them doing this was in the final week or two of the season when results elsewhere were critical.
On the world feed? I thought those top-right scores were done by NBC when games were on NBC or USA. Could be wrong though... there's so much variation on formats of screen real estate, it's hard to keep track of.
Sure be glib, but world feed announcers of most of the top European soccer leagues typically DO NOT give out scores of simultaneous matches, presumably because in some countries these matches are shown consecutively or same day delay. This enables viewers to watch more than one of these without being spoiled, either as broadcast or on demand. Fortunately there are fewer of these windows nowadays - La Liga almost never has multiple matches at the same time (except on Sundays preceding an international break where they can't schedule a Monday game), and Serie A have very few (they're down to 2 at the most at 9AM Sunday). The Premier League has the classic 10AM Saturday and with all their teams in Europe now 9AM Sunday windows, and Germany usually has 4-5 matches at 930AM Saturday, but those are about it these days.
They do on the matches broadcast on USA Network, but not on Peacock. I'm talking about matches on Peacock where they pick up the raw world feed. And even on USA Network the announcers are usually from the world feed for 10AM matches and don't give out scores, making it easy to just cover that portion of the screen. This was an entirely new thing yesterday.
There once was a poster here who carefully recorded all ten Premier League weekend matches off Fox Soccer Channel and ESPN2, and then spent all week watching them in chronological order, saving the ESPN2 game (Saturday 10am EST, within the 3 o'clock window) for last because Darke and McManaman were insufficiently repressive and regularly spoiled EPL scores during commentary. He would complain if someone here on a Wednesday discussed a weekend result because he hadn't yet completed his progression. Very bitter, very aggravated. That person ... was certainly not me. Just saying to all, don't be that person when it comes to spoilers.
Cordella on decision to bring back NBCSN and what viewers can expect - Sports Media Watch https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/10/cordella-nbcsn-relaunch-decision-details/ Programming that currently airs on USA will continue to air on USA. This new channel will not have Olympic coverage, nor will the Peacock-exclusive NFL game be there.
Sounds like it will essentially be an upgrading of the current NBC Sports fast channel with a little bit more premium content sprinkled in.
I'm already getting the feeling that it won't be added to provider lineups until carriage contracts are up for renewal. Either way, it doesn't sound like it'll be as critical as other channels have been. (ESPN2, ESPNU and NFL Network come to mind.)
And now we get the announcement of the Apple TV and Peacock bundle. $15 with ad-supported Peacock and $20 with ad free-ish Peacock.
In recent years I’ve been doing $20/yr Peacock Premium (Black Friday). I wonder if there’ll be any annual bundle with ATV, which I’ve generally avoided at their $10/mo rate. Anybody know?
In the past, I was able to pay the $6-7 (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, right?) difference to upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus, but that option was removed a few months ago. I'm really hoping they do more than just "$20/yr of Premium" this time around. But even if they don't, it's still a good deal to get that option with AppleTV at that regular or Black Friday price. I've seen various promotions of "Buy a new Apple device and get AppleTV included for 1/2/3 months." I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Apple keeps on doing. Obviously, they want to sell the new iProducts, since that's free advertising for them. Their cost of a new iProduct being made, shipped and sold is probably considerably less than their cost of paying for a TV show.
I do the $20 deal as well, with mine renewing in the summer. It's up to $25 now, but when I went to cancel and sign up for the $25 they automatically offered me the $20 for another year. I get Apple TV free through T-Mobile. Just thought this kind of deal might be something that people are looking for, especially as so much sports content moves around so often these days.
I got this email today: Your Premium Annual Plan Will Renew Soon and We've Updated Our Prices We hope you’re enjoying Peacock! We wanted to let you know that we're changing the prices of Peacock annual plans as follows: Premium Annual from $79.99 to $109.99 Premium Plus Annual from $139.99 to $169.99 All prices do not include applicable taxes. Prices for any add-ons, such as a Regional Sports Network, will remain the same. Your annual Peacock plan will auto-renew on 11/26/25 for 1 year at $109.99 plus applicable taxes unless you cancel before that date. If you are currently on an offer, your promotional pricing will continue through the end of your promotional period. I know this has been discussed earlier, but that's a fcuking huge increase for Premium... 37%! I sure hope they stick to their old Black Friday deals because last year I paid $20!
Do you ever not complain about everything? I'd put you on ignore but this site has never figured out how to let us do that to mods so I can't just stop seeing the inane whiny about every little detail that isn't to your liking.
How many of these streaming services are making money? Once they get the content and get the subs they'll start ramping up the prices, just like cable did.
