The ad says it excludes current Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers. You probably would need to cancel your current subscription before the deadline (Sept. 6) to have a chance at this. I suspect that if you cancel now, your subscription will stay active until your next billing date, so you might be out of luck. Looks like if you can swing it, you could use your existing login. Peacock logins still work after you cancel for the free content on the platform. It's a promo price marketed to NFL fans but it's the same Peacock service that anybody gets.
Thx. So is that the way it usually works with Peacock promos? I.e. I won’t be able to take advantage of a future promo while still retaining my existing (Premium) login creds?
I'm just going by the words on the ad here. My subscription is currently on a Black Friday promo price from last year, but I had been unsubscribed for a few months when I used it. I used the same account and login that I had from a previous subscription.
I believe you're right. If you're already signed up for one promo, that account is blocked from another promo. I'm not sure when that account would be able to sign up with a different promo...if it's next-day or "some time later."
Of course, you can always sign up with a different email address and take advantage of any promo, but obviously you need to change the log in on every device, which the OP on this didn't want to do. If they ever do another $29 for 12 months deal, then you'd be crazy not to go through the new log in hassle!
Whatever prior promo I might've started with, I think lapsed long ago. My subscription is now Peacock Premium for $7.99/mo, which I assume is full price? If so, do you think I could keep my old login creds and just add a promo onto them? With Paramount, I can get some discount applied to a yearly sub, if I call them up. Anybody ever tried that with NBC/Peacock... negotiate a lower price? Yeah that would be pretty compelling. I'm paying $24 for 3 mos as is.
Peacock Premium is $7.99. If you watch a lot of the archives, you can pay $13.99/mo and those wouldn't have a lot of the commercials. I'm paying $20 for a year of Premium and something like $5 or $6 per month extra for no commercials. Because I watch a lot of the archives, it's definitely worth it.
What the hell does this mean? For the past month or so, I haven't been able to access Peacock on my Samsung's built-in apps. It works fine on the other TV's Chromecast as well as on my phone. When I go to it via the app menu, I get the sad cat with the "please try again in a bit" message. I just clicked on one of the shows above the Peacock app logo and I'm seeing the below message. Of course the idiots at Peacock and Samsung just want me to reboot the TV, uninstall the app, etc etc. I suppose I could use a Chromecast, as I have a spare...but I really would prefer to have one less remote. It should be noted that there's no known issues with my WiFi or any other app on this TV.
I still can't use Apple TV on Chrome on Android on either Samsung phone. I just use the Samsung browser.
I would take the error at it's word. It's a DNS problem. So the solution is likely to be by dealing with DNS. Seems that your Samsung TV is doing DNS differently than your other devices. Are all devices on your same network, e.g. home wifi? You might want to check the network settings/status to see what DNS servers are being used by each device, and if Samsung is using different server(s) then maybe you can force the Samsung to use the same as your other devices.
Yes...well...I have my phone on my main WiFi and my TVs on my guest WiFi...but yeah, they're the same beyond that.
You should try to check each device's network settings/status to see what DNS server(s) they're using. If they're different then that might be a clue. Alternatively you can try switching your TV to your main wifi and see if that eliminates your error. I realize that moving your smart TV from off of guest wifi may be riskier security-wise. So if you do that swtich and it doesn't help, then you can switch the TV right back to guest wifi. But if it helped, then you've gotten closer to understanding the root cause, and also given yourself a decision about how best to proceed.
I have a 2022 Samsung TV hard wired ethernet port, no issues at all with Peacock app, picture quality is very good.
I also use my samsung tv app for peacock live games without issues. For some reason, they are unwatchable on my roku ultra with constant skipping.
I finally got someone from Peacock to email me, who I can only assume is above their basic help (probably India) and they say: "We do apologize for any inconvenience and are happy to help. Our team is currently investigating this issue and are working on a resolution. We greatly appreciate your patience as we look into this. We will reach out directly with any updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused." Main WiFi Guest WiFi (same router) Chromecast on TV #1 works for all apps on both WiFi, including Peacock. Phone works for all apps on both WiFi, including Peacock. Samsung TV works for all apps on both WiFi, except Peacock A different Samsung TV at another house works on all WiFi, including Peacock.
Maybe I'm getting somewhere: I'm still in the email conversation with them. After giving them the model number and telling them I have no "VPN, Proxy, DNS switching, ad-blockers, Port blocking, firewall, increased security, or anything else that can alter location or advertisements" I got this: "We are currently looking into regarding certain Samsung TV displaying this message." So apparently what I stumbled on *is* a Peacock problem, but only affecting a small number of Samsungs. I think I mentioned another Samsung TV on another Wi-Fi displays Peacock just fine. It's gonna be fun for them to fix since this apparent error code changes every time:
An update from Peacock: Thank you for that information. We do apologize for the continued inconvenience. After further investigation, we have linked your issue to an issue that is currently being investigated by our team. We have reported this back to the investigating team and once we have more information, we will reach back out! Your troubleshooting efforts and patience is greatly appreciated as this is being actively investigated. In the meantime, you can stream on any of our other supported devices (https://www.peacocktv.com/devices). Thank you for your patience.
https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/pe...um-select-tv-nbcuniversal-renewal-1236165819/ Peacock Premium (with commercials) will be included with Charter Select TV customers. There will be an option to upgrade for no commercials. If people have Spectrum internet, there's going to be an option to buy Peacock through Charter. Bonus: DirecTV will be going through their own renewal negotiations with NBC over the next month or so. It seems likely that Peacock will be added there.
