Frankly it looks like the nats will be hitting their prime. The only key players that will be a little old will be McBride and the GKs. So the way I see it the absence of McBride may affect the way the forwards play but there is a lot talent at forward position hitting their prime just then. Defense looks maybe a year older than their absolute prime but should be solid. Midfield looks mouth drooling spectacular. Yum yum!!
never mind my last comment i have no idea what i'm talking about. i don;t even really like this game anymore. i think i'll concentrate on nascar come february.
The ages for Friedel and Keller won't be that bad at all really. Many keepers hit their prime at those ages. Seaman wasn't bad at 36, was he? He was and is England's number one and I he'll be 40 in September. It's hard to tell how they will be in 3 and a half years. Maybe better. Or perhaps one of the young keepers will just come into fantastic form. All in all it looks rather promising but also remember, the teams with younger and faster players seemed to surprize a lot more at this cup while some of the veteran team's stumbled. I say ....start Freddy!!!!
I'd bet money that (barring personal issues or a decision to quit the Nats) both Friedel and Keller make the team in 2006 and that one of them is the starter. Gotta agree we are going to be stocked with talented players in (or hitting) their prime in both the midfield and forward positions. Defense really needs a few guys to show up or step up this year and next.
first of all, if you need to 'concentrate' on freakin nascar, go in good health! now, id not forget marcus hahnemann considering his form at reading - hell be 34 same for jonny walker at catolica - not sure about his age but i think hel be late 20's-early 30's in 2006
oh and i also agree on the talent from d mid on up maybe bruce will unveil his mystical 1-7-2 lol for what its woth - my early early early XI howard cherundolo pope bocanegra o brien mastroeni donovan reyna beasley mathis twellman key subs- friedel, sanneh, thorrington, convey, lewis, mcbride, johnson, quaranta, kirovski, wolff & who knows maybe freddy
What's funny is that you should do a list on players who will be 31 or younger for the 2010 World Cup starting with this year's crop of rookie professionals. Then, compare their experience levels(years playing professionally) with the 31 year old and younger players at the 2002 WC. I thought 2010 was a joke until I rolled that one around in my head.
Here's 23 from that list alone: 2010 World Cup Squad!! ---------------------- GK - Tim Howard, Milan GK - Adin Brown, Arsenal GK - Nick Rimando, Ajax D - Steve Cherundolo, Bayern Munich D - Nick Garcia, Real Sociedad D - Carlos Bocanegra, Real Madrid D - Corey Gibbs, Liverpool D - Danny Califf, Rochester D - Nelson Akwari, Roma D - Gooch Onyewu, Milan D - Alex Yi, Lazio M - Kyle Martino, Lazio M - Brad Davis, Manchester United M - Landon Donovan, San Jose M - DaMarcus Beasley, Real Madrid M - Bobby Convey, Rangers M - Justin Mapp, Arsenal M - Santino Quaranta, Milan M - Freddy Adu, Real Madrid F - Taylor Twellman, Manchester United F - Alecko Eskandarian, Ajax F - Ed Johnson, Roma F - Clint Mathis!!!, Anyang Cheetahs
Re: Re: Nats Pool Players' Age in 2006 I happen to think there could be a chance of JOB still being around.
