Keep trying kid. Watch a game and look at where the "wingers" are in Attack when Ronaldo is in support vs when they are near the corner flags all game.

This is what happens when espnfc is your mouth piece and watching highlights is considered watching the game.

My son, just answer the question. Deflecting to whatever the hell espnfc is every time someone says something you don't like is not a good rebuttal.

Learn to read kid. It's in the first paragraph but you hate when I call out your daddy and that's all you focus on.

lol you ever talk to a kid that hasn’t developed proper vocabulary or social skills yet so they get quickly frustrated and start babbling nonsense? This is you. You really think I can’t see you avoiding the question?

Ronaldo sucks man. I’m sorry, I know you are a grown ass man weirdly infatuated with another guy that doesn’t know you exist, but he does. He looks like shit in Saudi Arabia man. If he switched spots/stats with Ramos or any other striker your argument would flip flop to suit him and you know it. All of a sudden it would be embarrassing to be calling up a striker in Saudi Arabia. Cause you only look at the name on the back of the jersey. If that was Paulinho there with the exact same stats and performances, 0% chance you would be calling for him to start. Pathetic.

Seems pretty clear that Araujo and Edu are objectively better than Antonio silva at this point, but I’m just surprised Ronnie jr wasn’t called up

No Eduardo Quaresma whose been one of the best Portuguese defenders in recent months and was decisive. No Araujo whose been better than Antonio Silva. But Failix, Conceicao and even Palhinha who have hardly played, have their spots guaranteed.

Germany without their two starting CBs Rudiger and Schlotterbeck in addition to Musiala, possibly Ter Steggen and Havertz.. Kleindienst as well confirmed. This is the most beatable version of Germany we will ever face... Rodrigo Mora gets his first NT goal on his debut against Germany.. Pipe dream I guess..

It’s bizzare how nunes is never called. There has to be some sort of beef between him and martinez. He’s played a lot for city this season, and can play fullback or midfield.

He’s also one of few players we have who is athletic af (second fastest player in premier league).

It is bizzare how Rapha Guerrero never gets called up when he's on fire every season.. Yet we call up Nuno Tavares and Nelson Semedo.. Complete horse shit..

They are both going to the u21 euro. We shuda sent Mora there as well, pointless to call him up for this since he will def not play

What’s with the conceicao hate? Who would you rather have? He’s not amazing but which Portugal winger is? It’s our weakest position by far. Leao…trash. Trincao…mid. Neto….mid. Conceicao…mid. Quenda…mid (even gets benched now for sporting)

Martinez is a clown. Hopefully the team gets embarrassed by Germany and his ass gets sent packing. To call up Nuno Tavares and not Guerreiro is not just a friggin joke but a complete lack of respect to a player that has contributed much to Portugal (guy was in the Team of the Tournament at Euro 2016).

The thought of going into the World Cup with Martinez at the helm sounds so underwhelming it makes me genuinely sad.

Araujo ain't much better than Antonio Silva but the fact that Silva is getting called and Araujo isn't makes no sense. I can't with Martinez. It's so crazy how everyone and their mother knew this guy would just not cut it and yet he was still hired. He's as average as they come.

Also a big ******** you to Mourinho for rejecting the national team while at Roma. ********ing loser. I knew he'd regret it later but not enough to actually publicly admit it. Denying the national team, with arguably it's greatest talent ever, to manage ********ing AS Roma. lmao. Not Real Madrid, not Barcelona. But Roma. Just incredible. Jose Mourinho of 2003/2004 would be ashamed at who he has become. Instead of enjoying a great living in his home country he had to go to ********ing Turkey because no one else would take him. Divine justice if I've ever seen it.

Oh damn, he was team of the tournament in 2016??! How could he not be called up a decade later!

Guy's been mid at best at Bayern this year.

I think everyone would take any of the four players you mentioned there over Conceicao. All he contributes is diving.

I agree though, guys like Ruben Neves, Ronaldo, and Felix are much less deserving than Conceicao.

That's not what I read. In any case, he's definitely still better than Semedo or Tavares.

Avoiding the question ...asks which players are wingers or forwards when those are positions used in a system.

Gasp! A "winger" can play as a "forward" and a forward can play as winger?

Pish posh perish the thought! Some kids says impossible...because he doesn't watch.

I don't elaborate because Everybody knows the difference...except your dumb ass.

Lol system never changed my boy. You’re just calling them forwards when it looked ok and wingers when it didn’t to suit your dumbass narrative. Probably taken from espnfc. Doesn’t change the fact that the system never changed. Anything to make daddy ronnie look good though I guess.

    No, but seriously.
Player 1: 24 g/a in 1,605 mins. Plays in France. Arguably on best team in the world. 23 years old.
Player 2: 27 g/a in 3,457 mins. Plays in Saudi Arabia. On the 4th best team in that league. 40 years old.

    Who ya picking big dog?

Germany was more than beatable in 2020(1) euro and even up a goal they strategically annihilated us.

The Germans don't ever really need to rely on stars they are a machine with a plan. Our skill can not trump them unless we have a game plan ahead of theirs and then execute it. Martinez has shown he has no clue what to do tactically and in big games throws what works (front two or 3 attackers no wide wingers ...for the kids out there that means leaving a sole striker with nobody around him for 20 yards in any direction) and playing with extra defensive minded cms which always leads to us getting caught when they try to attack or forces us to defend more as we turn over errant crosses because our lone striker has 3 defenders right beside him and another 2 or 3 in proximity.

So to beat Germany it doesn't matter who they have its how we line up and what tactics we will use. That's it.

If you see Ronaldo up top alone we automatically lost. That would also be true if Ramos started up top alone as well before the kids cry that he's better some how based on... not scoring when he plays.

Joa Neves and Vitinha are special. Portugal could replicate PSG and build a winning squad if they build around them and other players willing to run and press. They simply need to move away from Bernardo Ronaldo Cancelo Bruno Felix and keep Leao on a short leash if he does not track back and press hard. Mendes as well of course is excellent. Portugals biggest issue going into 2026 are their internal politics regarding selection.
