Try to write 50,000 words, regardless of how crappy your story is, in a month.

I'm trying. How about you guys?

It usually takes me longer than 30 days to put together 50,000 crappy words, even including my bigsoccer posts. But I think I'll give it a shot.

Hey, let's post our output on the the Extratime boards...;)

OK you've hooked me, Monster. I've had a novel in my head for years. I once wrote about 50 pages of it saved to a disk that was subsequently stolen. Along with the computer. That was a pretty rough day. I've been trying to write short stuff but that'hasn't been coming. So what the hell? I doubt I'll get 50,000 done, but if it gets me to say, 30,000, I figure it's easy sailing from there. ANd it's a different kind of writing from the writing that I do when I'm writing short stuff, a lot freer and a lot looser, so it will probably help me ujog the other stuff.

    So my story:

Title: Confession to a Dog that I Killed.

    Idea,

Meet (Character's name) A young biologist who aims to become the world's foremost expert on the appendix. Alienated by the overactive sex life of his allegedly hippie parents, he sets out on a life journey to prove that all physical form is a vestigeal trait whose importance pales in comparison to the human mind.
