Alright, let me be the first to say it. This chick is nuts and a gold digger. Anyone else notice on her bio page that, back in 2006/2007, she was "interested in a career as a lawyer"? Good luck with that sweety.
So how about this theory. Lawyer has a slow month, looks through his 'small chance at winning' files, picks up the paper and sees Jaqua is "Goal of the Week" scorer in MLS. $ $ == ^^^ Lawyer's face
In case anyone was wondering whether that civil complaint is legit -- it is. That much, I've verified.
Even if its a legitimate lawsuit does the lawyer even have a case cause you can just about sue for almost anything bogus or not.
ugly story. She must have a record of being tested for an STD and doctors visits to treat the injuries she suffered if that's what she plans to base this on right?
Id refer back to the original thread on this forum about that. I dont think that article presents a full picture.
If the lawsuit was poor worded that could be enough for it to get tossed appoo, If her medical records are being brought into the case, the defense lawyer could use it against her especially if its a sports related injury.
And that is one of the things wrong with the country. The problem is that the lawyers rarely get sanctioned or disbarred for garbage lawsuits. If there really is no claim, I'd countersue for malicious prosecution rather than just defend baseless claims.
This is a civil case not criminal. It would be countersuing the one that brought the lawsuit for slander. We don't even know if there is any evidence or a police report or anything for that matter.
Careful. I don't think we have enough information for you to be able to make that statement. She very well could be telling the truth; it'll just be hard for her to prove it.
Here's the thing there hasn't been nothing to prove that criminal case brought forth and yet alone any police reports. The Media would mention if there was such an investigation going on. With that said we don't even know what she is basing the lawsuit on. What evidence is there that would show that Jaqua or MLS is liable for damage. Especially since no charges has been brought against Jaqua nor there will be since this is a civil case. And for that exact reason, her lawyer is going to have a hard time proving it. Rather or not this lawsuit gets tossed for what ever reason we don't know. Her lawyer is hoping MLS will settle the case even though Jaqua or MLS may have done nothing wrong. Usually in these type of civil lawsuits for money damage there normally would be a criminal case (regardless of rather or not the defendant is guilty or not) prior to the civil case Like i said anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason doesn't necessary make it true.
KOMO News Seattle MLS officials said they first heard of the allegations on Thursday afternoon. "Every organization, whether it's a fortune 500 company or a professional sports league, needs to take allegations like this seriously," said Dan Courtemanche, senior vice president of marketing and communication of MLS. Courtemanche said the league does not have a blanket policy on sexual assault, which is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. "It's something that we're going to work closely with the team (on), and the team is going to work closely with Mr. Jaqua's attorneys regarding allegations and certainly let the legal process take its course," said Courtemanche. The Seattle Sounders have not commented.
