Chris Dunleavy (5) wins an aerial battle
with Kyle Rote in the 1973 Championship
I wonder what they look like now?
They may be on the 50+ & have the sag & shag look
but I'm willing to bet they will still do! hehehehe!
NY COSMOS CHEERLEADERS

FWIW--you have some photos not from my site, but which I provided to Chris Page's NASL site years ago. They were taken from some long out-of-print English soccer book with a chapter on the NASL. Great, full-color shots, as you can see--and hard to come by for the NASL. Usually, the only color shots around were Soccer Digest covers (as Soccer America was just a weekly newspaper back then...)
Well, if it is, Amazon hasn't got it yet, for whatever reason.
It will be worth the wait, I'm sure. Clive is not one to hold back...
I just watched the second half of Rowdies/Cosmos from May 1979 on DVD. ABC's telecast. Man, was it spotty.
McKay was not good. And they missed the winning goal while they were in commercial. Oh, well, such a little thing, the winning goal.
I used to subscribe to Soccer Corner magazine and Soccer Digest. I liked the old Soccer America newspaper format as it came once a week...Now its only once a month. I guess they figured we get most stuff off the net. I wish there were more pics on the net, but they are becoming very difficult finds. Keep posting if you have them!
How about the Minnesota Kicks? Pictures. I WANT PICTURES!
Didn't you like the pick of Willie Morgan of the Minnesota Kicks?
There you are.....
Teofilo Cubillas, Gerd Muller & Alan Merrick
sweet Dynamo colours!
I'll have to buy one from Toffs and change the team crests
One of these might fit the bill better, no blue trim.
Great idea though.
Alan says: Who said American fans do not like their Soccer the crowd tried to rip off my shirt after a game in Minnesota that put us into the Soccer Bowl Final, this is me sitting in the locker room after the game, I still have the shirt what is left of it!!!
NY Cosmos vs. Minnesota Kicks
Are you getting a kick out of this?

I have a huge collection of NASL memorablia:
I got about 30 books, 100s of magazines, 100s og programs and guides, thousands of pics, 350 games on video and dvd. + more
I still need more and I wonder if anyone out there are interested in selling or trading games on video or NASL team group pics(copies) or other memorablia.
Please feel free to contact me
Sorry I got to this so long after your post. I can help with a couple of names. The blond guy next to John Rowlands is Julie Veee. On the front row, #19 is Leroy Spann, #6 is Mani Hernandez, and #25 is Jim Zylker. This was 1976, and after the arrival of Tony Simoes, it was arguably the best Quakes team of the NASL era. A questionable offsides call in Minnesota probably cost them a a berth in the championship game.
here is one for you
I like that one. That's the all-white kit that day of the snowstorm, right?
I think it was the Red Cross team.
Can't see the pic. Can it please be posted again?
