I might could help a little if the pics were bigger. I can't make out the numbers on the shorts too well.

    Anyway, here goes...

The guy in front looks to be number 3, who in '77 was Vito Dimitrijevic, and the guy in the back (said "Everyone Attack!" and it turned into a ballroom blitz... oops, sorry; got carried away :) ), the number looks like #8. If so, then it was Terry Garbett.

Now, before anybody thinks I have super powers, or super anything for that matter, I'm going by Colin Jose's NASL book. Those are the numbers listed for those players that year.

Those two are #9 Giorgio Chinaglia in the center and #6 Franz Beckenbauer behind him.

Steve Hunt #11 should be somewhere behind the goalie. ;)

That could be Chinaglia in front, but that guy's hair is too long to be Beckenbauer. Plus, that guy has blonde hair; der Kaiser's hair was dark brown or black. I still say it's Garbett.

I went back to the (much larger) source photo...and the other player is #8. So...Terry Garbett it is.

    Anyone attend the game?
It's still considered the "best" soccer bowl ever by many people.

I saw it on TV. It wasn't the best Soccer Bowl to me, because I was rooting for the Sounders. It was a good game though. I think Chursky's gaff was one of the turning points of the game. Of course, it could be said that he got what he deserved, for not watching was he was doing.

BTW, who "is" the other guy besides Garbett? What number was he?
