NASL should relaunch as “authentic” American soccer with the clock counting down, breakaway shootout, etc.
That's a weirdly worded article. It just be a NASL press release.. It refers to the case in the present case but concludes it's pretty much done. It suggests the jury "sided" with US Soccer, when the jury found that NASL didn't have a case. It concludes that US Soccer and MLS "maintain control in governing the soccer industry in the U.S. and Canada". That seems to misstate the jury's findings and implies there's still a conspiracy that prevents competition, when USL, CPL and NWSL are proving otherwise.
Michael McCann (born March 28, 1976)[1] is an American attorney, professor and sports journalist. McCann is the director of the Sports and Entertainment Law Institute at the University of New Hampshire School of Law.[2] He is also a regular contributor to Sportico on sports-related legal issues. That's the author, supposedly. He also apparently authored his own Wikipedia page.
I missed the word "may" from my last post. It may be from a NASL press release but given the post above maybe not.
I wonder what really remains of the NASL. They haven't posted anything to their website since 2025 and, even then, they posted three items.
Since Rocco B. Commisso died in January, his son Giuseppe has been in Florence assuming the presidency of Fiorentina. I doubt he will want to continue the Cosmos fight now that his dad is gone and also because he needs to focus on La Viola’s next campaign.
I was reading an article about the Texas Tech suit that reinstated their QB after he bet on his own team and came across this line: My first thought was "yeah, that tracks".
Judge Hays, the Texas Tech grad, did recuse himself. Judge Curry, who ruled on the case, graduated from UTSA.
