I'm pretty sure that the Joe Gibbs camp needs to get a clue how to attack Dover. They are horrible there.
I don't know but I think we're gonna see another last lap gasp like in 2004 just feel the 48 has it I can still see the 5 comming back and getting maybe a top 5 points finish, but hey
Big Tony wins Kansas. He may not be in NASCAR's chase standings, he finished the regular season in 5th place in my standings so he is in my Chase. I think I had seen a link to this before somehwere but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a link to a board where someone keeps a running tally of the season had the chase not been implemented? Like not a new way of tallying the scores like Hanki does (which is cool, by the way.) I just want a simple tally of what the scores would be if we just kept the season going as it would have before the chase.
It's not the entire points standings but at least it is the top 11 the old way. http://www.jayski.com/stats/2006standings/oct1.htm 1) #17-Matt Kenseth 4162 2) #48-Jimmie Johnson 4029 -133 3) #29-Kevin Harvick 3856 -306 4) #31-Jeff Burton 3818 -344 5) #11-Denny Hamlin 3760 -402 6) #6-Mark Martin 3757 -405 7) #20-Tony Stewart 3722 -440 8) #24-Jeff Gordon 3702 -460 9) #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. 3701 -461 10) #5-Kyle Busch 3667 -495 11) #9-Kasey Kahne 3552 -610
Wouldn't you be able to take the guys running 12th-wherever and make the complete list then? It's not like anyone except the top 10 had their point totals changed after Richmond...

Brian Vickers just learned what it takes to be the third-most hated driver in NASCAR..... Vickers wins Talladega after turning Johnson into Earnhardt, eliminating the only two cars standing between him and his first victory. The only consolation for most Chasers was the Burton cut down a tire to finish a lap down.

I kind of felt sorry for Vickers until his interview. He made a mistake and misjudged a move - he's not a very good driver as is - and it just happened to be on the last lap of a race and he took out the top two. Its not like he intentionally took them out. He could've manned up in the interview though, but he blamed it on Earnhardt Jr. That's what lost my respect. Good luck getting any fans now.
Right, I mean it's tight racing, and Johnson made it easier to hit him than miss him by coming up too close to Junior before whipping out, leaving that corner of his bumper exposed unnecessarily. How you put any blame on Earnhardt is beyond me. On a later SPEED channel interview, Vickers did a much better job of explaining the wreck where he asked for Junior's forgiveness and didn't blame him at all - but most fans just saw the victory lane interview. Points race sure tightened up.
Wow......Vickers............. Even though grats you wrecked your freind...... Also if you look at it after Johnson did the dive for the inside he basicly lost speed and Jr went for a block, and Vickers was really going to push the 48 for the win but it was just a mistake on all 3 of the drivers fault..
If by all 3 drivers you mean only Brian Vickers then you are right. The other two did absolutely nothing wrong, Vickers caused the whole thing by turning before he was clear of the 48.
