I understand this new infatuation for the Flamster and i think he has been a really astute and solid addition, but feel free to look at and compare both Arteta and Flamini numbers this season (pass%, tackles, clerances etc.) . Arteta edge him in all categories, hands down.
The announcers mentioned that the pitch was in relatively poor shape compared to EPL pitches, and that it hadn't been watered today. I'm guessing the ball isn't gliding over the grass as easily as it did at the Emirates, hence the underpowered passes.
I think Higuain is slower than Giroud. Good half. Let's wrap it up with a couple of goals in the second. Napoli are tiring and frankly, are not very good without their captain.
Stats are for people who want another, albeit imperfect, tool to help un-bias them, so their analysis is more objective and accurate ;-)
Flamini brings a lot of calmness to the group by being very voiceful and his engine allows him to have greater range when covering the back 4.
Jenkinson is just not on the same level with Any of the 5 midfielders (really 6 how giroud is deployed). Every attack seems to end with him messing up a pass.
The kid's just got no confidence. He constantly looks like and 8th grader at his first dance. Pure terror.
Can anyone tell me why Flamini ends up being our furthest midfielder forward? That's not who I want to see on the end of these passes.
He's been doing this for a while. Not sure why, when he goes forward, it leaves the slower Arteta alone to cover the entire pitch in front of Kos/Mert.
