I do not like the price myself, but we are in a difficult situation, and this is the February transfer window...
Vergara is a prime example of why this club needs a real youth set up... Can you imagine if we gave that kid a chance earlier ? We would of had to throw money away on Lang....
No, that's asking too much of him. He's too raw and needs the proper tools around so he continues to get better.
Sterling ended his contract with Chelsea. He'd have to drastically reduce his wages to come here. I see him going to Turkey.
I think by some it is already seen as the better league in general, or at least Galatasaray, where others seem to at least have the desire to follow. Just look at them in the CHL, and us.
Serie A is too competitive and it doesn't pay enough, if anything its the opposite of a place players go to retire/relax - I think it's perfect for young (actually good aka non Italian) talents. Players like KDB and Modric are the freak exception - they still want to compete at the highest level. No matter what you say about Serie A; a league where everyone man marks and plays a back 5 is difficult to play in - is it entertaining? Hell no. Will it generate revenue from viewership? Hell no. Are Italian teams doomed to fail because of it? Most likely. This league needs more Fabregays and Italianos and less conte and allegris
Lookman got off the airplane, went straight to the pitch in a different league, and scored a goal. Can anyone send a video to Antonio?
Lucca goal already. Evidence that Conte is doing something wrong seems to be lurking everywhere. His refusal to look into it will most probably mean he will remain at the same level.
I just don't think right now Napoli has the right tools to develop a player like Lucca. He was still raw for us to trust him more. And I worry the same may be true for Hojlund. Napoli is a big project that will take many years to work out.
Maybe having an xG of less than 1 per 90 mins doesn't help any forward. However Lucca's destiny was his own doing and not Conte's fault at all imo.
Granted, the quality of the crossing hasn't been great, but still a player of stronger quality lays into his teammates and gets on their case for better service. I think Lucca was still too green to put his foot down like that.
Geez, guys, I just meant that our Captain kept saying that every player needed to climb 7 mountains, swim across 7 seas, anally probe 7 goats, etc, to be ready to actually contribute to anything. Since our season is now going to be a very loooooong, I say, looooooooooong bore, I need to take a dig at the man every once in a while.
Depending who you listen to, McTominay is either sitting down with Napoli to hammer out an extension through 2030, or he's about to sign with Man U. The smart money seems to be on an extension.
La Repubblica says DeLa wants to give Conte an extension to 2028. Manna's tenure is less certain. UCL guarantees enough income to avoid cost-cutting measures, but it seems the plan is to sign younger players, keep McTominay, and to reassess Lukaku and KdB's futures. I get signing younger players, but IMO we must sign Harry Maguire. He should be an exception. For me, Luka and KdB deserve at least one more season.
I think I might just cry if harry Maguire is the big money CB we go for. We need someone like K2 or Kim (fast defender), someone that allows us to go to the next level. In football you have to have a backline that can play high, maguire is not gonna help with that. Furthermore, maguire is expensive, he is not exactly doing badly at Man Utd atm. I would much rather sign someone like Singo from Galatasaray.
Maguire is on a free. We need experience. Someone to help Buongiorno and someone to help other youngsters come through. We need to think further down the road. We are not in any position to challenge for UCL. Only Serie A. It will be that way until new stadium.
