They banned Napoli from traveling but League claims ASL had no right to do so and misunderstood the rules which do not apply to Napoli.

Tuttosport (they are a Turin outlet) claim Napoli will lose 3-0 and get a 1 point deduction as well.

The argument now is after Zielinski got infected Napoli should have gone into a retreat and stayed there. From there any players who are negative can go to training or to games (basically Napoli want to do that from tomorrow).

The argument is that had Napoli done this in time, ASL would not have banned Napoli from travel.

But this is a joke. Milan was not forced into a retreat nor did Genoa do it. But in those cases the local ASL did not ban them so they are not penalised for it.

No words. Juve getting their way. It's almost as if they already knew, so unprofessional and no sportsmanship shown as per usual. Napoli ********ed up as well, but how could they have known, when the league aren't making clear rules to ensure teams can travel to away games. The incubation time of covid and not being on top of that is so unprofessional as well

Health is more important than sport. If the clubs aren't told to immediately self isolate and test after the incubation time (4 days) when someone at training has tested positive, no one will be allowed to travel to away games in the following months.

Edit: apparently clubs are told to do so

The league is a joke but reality is Napoli will lose this game and get a point deduction.

No public statements, no word from ADL or the club. Absolutely pathetic.

Apparently we did not follow protocol (implied by agnelli). If that's the case we deserve to lose and get punished. We cannot have no football for months because of teams not following protocol

But remember neither did Genoa or Milan and before that Atalanta. Only Juve did. We are just unlucky that the ASL now banned us. This obviously assumes the ASL would not have banned us if we had followed protocol.

In any case a joke that Juve showed no sportsmanship.

Agnelli speaks to press, Juve issues statements. Silence from Napoli. Absolutely pathetic.

If that's the case all those teams should be punished, it's a joke when we know how hard Italy has been hit.

Guintoli has totally mismanaged Milik, Llorente and Malcuit who all refused to leave. Napoli’s wage bill is now 7 million higher than last year without CL football. Milik and Llorente get 9 million. Additionally we lose 25 million because Milik will leave for free.

We need to renew Maksimovic and Hysaj asap or we will lose them as well for free next year.

Looks like the game will be postponed and we will get a 1 point deduction for not following protocol. I thinks this is fair solution.

We ********ed up, I don't care if other teams did as well, that doesn't change what we did. This needs to be done in order to prevent more incidents like this.

In the end its us the people that love watching football that win.

Disagree. You are only right if the decision to ban our travel was a result of us violating the protocol.

If not we need to be treated like everyone else.

Even if it was a result of us violating the protocol, it's a very tricky situation. It seems like in that scenario, we would have to boil it down to the errors of individuals, as I think it was our lawyer who had a lot to say in the matter. If the fate of the players who battle and train on the pitch will be influenced by the decisions of lawyers or who knows who, then what is the point of the competition?

    It is a joke.

It will impact our next game too. Team will break down knowing they have been cheated by the system again. All foreign media calling it a joke.

I see this as more of a punishment at ADL. Why was the club silent on the day? Why? All the tv stations were ready to broadcast the damn game and waited along with the fans till kick-off, and ADL didn't even announce we weren't coming that day.

The club is run by idiots.

"The Disciplinary Commission today ruled that Napoli had already canceled their flight to Turin before receiving the travel ban from the local health authority (ASL), so did not follow the Serie A protocol for COVID-19 cases that all the clubs had agreed to before the season kicked off."

"Napoli had argued the ASL over-ruled the Lega Serie A protocol, but the order not to travel only came on Sunday, whereas the club had already canceled flight and hotel stays on Saturday."

However, we might still get it overruled:

“As in any country, the State has the prevalence over sport, so Napoli will appeal based on that. However, the Disciplinary Committee ruling was entirely opportune, because there are rules to be respected and Napoli evidently didn’t do that to the full."

This is on ADL, and no one else. I can imagine him ordering the team to stay at home and not travel because of some superstitious or dumb reason, like not wanting his precious investments to get COVID-19
