To be fair conte took over a team of 7 recent Scudetto winners who where in the starting 11 when won, and Mctominay, Lukaku and Buongiorno. What a terrible team, definitely 10th place material.
Welcome to last season. I don't see the problem as new, but I also acknowledge there is this Conte thing that magically nets us point, which is why I ignore it until it is visible in results. 5 wins of 6, no one can take that away from him. The loss to City wasn't his fault. The loss to Milan was just unlucky because a new young CB started the game as feared but nothing surprising There - also as a sidenote Conte couldn't start Beukema in that game because fear of Injury meant we wouldnt have a CB against sporting because Marianucci isn't registered in the CL squad.
The team's doing very well given the injury situation. Depth is much improved from previous seasons. We could already be on a four game slide, and with the strength the usual suspects plus Roma are showing this year that could be fatal. Last year was a pretty weak league in retrospect. It looked like some teams were over performing but I think it was more weakness in the top squads.
I think that the biggest problems with playing players like Lucca is that they naturally feel like they need to show their worth, which often leads to their keeping the ball for too long instead of passing it, as if they themselves were waiting for that magic that is not there, only to then lose the ball easily. Luca has already done it once, let us hope he can avoid it as much as possible.
Once again, a very bad start to the game. We have shown only impotence, and allowed them show brilliance far too easily. At least we are lucky.
That goes without saying. Well, we can only hope we will improve significantly in this game, or for the Kevin effect again. Not a good free kick, but the goalkeeper almost fcked it up as if Kevin had mesmerized him. Well, at least Neres shows signs of danger.
And ofc, the camera showing Conte with that look on his face that already says 'we were doing well, nobody here actually has any experience with anything, please remember we are building a highway here and we have bad quality weed', or something like that. Just kidding, let's turn this around.
Has anyone listened to the Italian football podcast? They go on and on about how Lucca has the entire package, and can do everything Højlund can but better. I dont see it. Of course one of them also said di Baggio was better than Messi
Gilmour has looked like the super talent he used to be when he came through Chelsea's academy. Also having jorginho and now Lobo as your mentor can't hurt. Btw what was that freekick by Neres? Why even ask to take it if you can hit it that badly?
He is obviously not going to show his best here. He is too eager to prove himself, you can feel it in everything he does. That is not the issue here, though. Whether that goal was somebody's fault or not, we still keep starting every game conceding first, and mostly the best we can do until then is falling, stumbling, and crying...
