Short clip released had some details. Conte was described as a “Nazi” by the players. The trainings are tough and if you don’t do what he says or how he says it, you don’t play. Conte has been accused by players in the past how having training sessions that are too robotic.

He claims Conte, Oriali, Stellini, and Conte’s brother (who I didn’t even know was part of the staff) literally control everything. They purposely maligned Edo De Laurentiis. Conte tells players that “You’re only here because your agent is friends with ADL.” In other words it’s very toxic environment inside the locker room right now

 

I mean he’s not wrong there.

If you’re not gonna align player signings with what manager wants, then at least align player signing with the clubs ambitions.

Sure he’s not wrong and I’m curious who that was directed at. But at the same time, Conte has to answer for Lucca, Lang, Beukema, Marianucci, Milinkovic Savic. He brought these guys in

 

A lot of hit and miss for sure, but who signed Guitterez and geovane? That’s 40+ million for players who I believe are system players and/or just not good enough for what Napoli wants to play (modern, 433, physical)
Guiterrez is not an upgrade on Oliveira, in fact I see it as a major downgrade and I think Oliveira will be a standout player for Uruguay at the WC while guiterrez doesn’t have the attributes to even be considered for Spain (too weak, too slow, a system player). If anything we got a worse player and pissed off our current player to the point he wants to leave.

conte made a huge mistake with Lucca, but it doesn’t help the club adds players that aren’t good enough for Napoli. The rest of the players listed have potential to be good (enough) players imo (even lang).

I’m not pro Conte, but I understand if he is upset with some of the players that he is forced to play.

So I watched the whole Corona report on Napoli. The most interesting bits:

• Conte, Oriali, Stellini, and Conte’s brother control everything. Edo De Laurentiis has been banned from the locker room. They won’t even allow him to speak to the players
• The biggest point of contention is Conte’s training sessions that the players feel are too hard and unreasonable. Corona calls Conte a Nazi and despot. If you don’t do what he says or how he wants, you’re benched. The players felt they were pushed so hard in training, they had no gas for the matches. 42 muscular injuries, a club record.
• Conte blamed the S&C coach. Corona claims Conte learned his ways from when he was a player at Juve and everyone was doping.
• Mazzocchi was kicked out of the team at a point in the season when he asked Conte if they were still going to do biweekly training sessions. Conte took him off the team and said he was injured.
• Half the team hates him and want him gone. The ten players mentioned have already said that if he’s there next year, they’re not renewing. Conte knows he is despised. Lukaku blames his injuries on him. The relationship between them is broken.
• In January, Marianucci, Vergara and Ambrosino told Conte they wanted a transfer. Conte refused and told them that he needed them for “training”. Basically they were just there as training fodder for the first team. Marianucci told Conte that he couldn’t treat him like a primavera player. And that’s when Conte told him “You’re only here because your agent is friends with ADL”.’ And that’s when Marianucci collected his stuff and left. Conte was so petty that when D’Aversa took over for Baroni, Conte called D’Aversa and told him not to play Marianucci.

That’s the most interesting stuff that pertains to the team. The rest is typical gossip bullshit that can’t be verified. But Conte is so hated by one player that he was willing to pay Corona 10k to spill the tea including details of an affair with an Italian model named Antonella Fiordilisi. Apparently it’s Meret. Meret has announced that he is going to sue Corona. And fwiw he accuses Rrahmani of being bisexual lol

 

How much of this is true or exaggerated? Who knows. But a lot of the stuff tracks. I’m shocked that Conte cannot understand basic S&C training. You need to program rest and recovery. It’s not the first time in his career he fumbles the European games. He has done this consistently everywhere he has gone.

 

These guys get paid millions and act like this when someone makes them actually work for their money ?


The complete lack of discipline is disgraceful. What a lot of provincial mind sets some of these players have.

Lukaku has played under Conte for multiple seasons and he chose to not get the operation .


Also I’m pretty sure it was the right choice to keep ADL and his inbreed son away from the players.

 

Is this Boungiorno’s excuse for playing like ass ? Was intentionally playing like an idiot to stick it to conte ?

It’s rumoured the guy is comparing natural athletes with roided up Juventus players from the past, something I definitely think wouldn’t be past him.
Look at modern man management from the best coach of all time, guardiola. He gives his players small vacations, sometimes lasting multiple days during the season.
The question is not of want but of need. Would a human basically working 24/7, 7 days a week, need periods away from that, just from a mental point of view? Modern football players have to think their work into every aspect of life, from when they wake up in the morning to the time they go to sleep. It’s too much for any person, let alone a millionaire.

it’s not just a Conte problem, it’s packed scheduling with more games so everyone gets paid (uefa, fifa, serie a etc.). The best way to circumvent this is doing what the players want, because they are the most important interest in this puzzle.

People therefore players are greedy and would want as much money as possible, always, hence more games being played. Unfortunately that doesn’t translate to them just cutting out rest periods, because it might physically just not be possible.

 

Yeah I agree with you to an extent but I can’t stand players who cry over playing time. Put in the work and earn your spot.

 

The problem with Edo is he's ownership. He needs to separate himself from the politics at the player level. If Conte is such a problem, Manna has to be there for the players and bring those concerns up to Edo. Back in the day, when things were more relaxed, he could have gone into the locker room, but today football clubs are run like proper corporations.

Sounds like a toxic environment, the root cause stemming from Conte's hard training sessions. At some point, those methods burn out teams. More than that, Conte did himself no favors with his pettiness. I really thought he turned a page, that he was more mellow and calm, but he's only gotten better that way when facing the press it seems.

Sounds like Sarri will get the job. I wouldn't say he's any better as a person, but his focus in training is on the ball, rather than without it. I hope he gets a 2-year deal with a possible third year extension. IMO the third year needs to be earned with what he shows in his first season, while the second year ensures some level of security.

I think Lobo will stay and get a starring role under Sarri. No more stagnant passing. I expect to see him more involved in the attack. IMO this is the biggest improvement any manager can make to how Napoli currently play.

 

I can't say whether Juve doped or not. Maradona did and I doubt he was alone.

 

Unless you’re doping, it’s absolutely nonsensical to run these intense training sessions multiple times a week. Maybe if you’re playing once a week you can get an away with it. But Conte has shown his whole career that his teams can’t manage the European games. It’s not an accident. At some point you need to look in the mirror and evaluate your methods. 42 injuries in one season. Conte didn’t just lose the young players or new signees, he lost the senatori. Guys like Lobo and Anguissa. KDB has won everything at club level. If he is saying this is ridiculous then maybe people should listen to him. It’s a matter of diminishing returns

 

I am the first one to say that a man who earns that which a working class hero in his lifetime in 2 hours should earn it; however, reason must prevail.

If other clubs can do more with less, and you are obviously paying for your excess, losing the assets at your disposal because of it, you need to reevaluate the facts, and the modus operandi that you have employed.

Conte is like the man who insists on his workforce pushing boxes uphill where others have long ago realized that using a wheel on level ground, going around the hill, might just work better.

I might be drunk, but I am still all in for hard work, just let me be the man looking at it, while taking a shite.

 

It takes hard work for a club like ours to win trophies. Players have become soft. I don’t care about the dopping angle because teams throughout the 80s and 90s have done that shit.


ADL needs to invest in the clubs infrastructure badly or else we will really fall behind. Look at the top clubs in Europe and their crazy schedules but they have the back end to keep their players fit.
KDB is a mouse compared to Modric.

 

DeLa to his credit is investing. New training facility already broke ground. Plus stadium renos are slated to expand seating right up to the pitch.

Conte took too many battles personally. He couldn't admit the faults in his approach given the mounting injuries.

That said, more than anything, it comes down to money. Backing Conte likely meant signing guys like Casemiro on a big salary and other costly squad changes; whereas, hiring Sarri meant working his magic on Lobotka instead. It's clear one manager is more economical and practical than the other, even though the likes of Gila won't come cheap.

Sarri made a deal with the devil to win a Scudetto under Andrea Agnelli at Juve, now is his chance to make things right and finally win one with Napoli after having been robbed in Juve's Andrea era. Best of luck, mister.

 

Part 2s never really workout all that well unless you are Don Carlo at Madrid. Jose is going to get face ********ed by Madrid again.

 

ADL took over a club with 0 assets other than its players. Right now the problem remains almost the same, SSC Napoli has almost all its asset bindings in players and goodwill, which binds the club's wealth in highly risky capital, meaning taking loans becomes almost impossible/nonsensible.
ADL is trying to built training grounds and/or own a stadium because he has to, its the only way the club can grow. Without it the clubs own basically nothing.

ADL won't invest because he has no reason to and within his right, its too risky as long as Napoli don't actually own anything. If we own a stadium or a training facility then I think he is more likely to pump money into the club/ or acquire debt.

 

Maybe because they do not run them to the ground for the sheer madness of it? Wth are you talking about, brother? What better ointment has there ever been for exhaustion than rest itself? None. And yet it is the one thing that Conte refused them, and instead of joy for themselves and joy for the fans we had unnecessary injuries and excuse piled upon excuse...

 

Sarri is going to Atalanta

 

It’s going to be Inzaghi or italiano. I don’t see ADL going after Palladino.
