‘We’re having an incredibly positive season.' - Conte. He also dared criticize the referees. I understand that it was meant to be general, but after not criticizing them after what happened in Janov, he could at least be a quiet hypocrite ... It is funny how all the criticism he was getting elsewhere begins to make perfect sense. We were just stupid enough to give him everything he wanted, so that he can bitch about that as well...
It's the way it happens that is not acceptable. Spending all you resources losing to Como is not top team worthy. Especially when you see how easily we equalize after going behind. It is a pattern with this dinosaur of a manager - we clearly have a "park the bus mode" that he resorts back to when we have the result we are happy to end the game with. The problem is its not 2012 anymore and we don't cheat, so that's not gonna work. In the game against Como he resorted back to the park the bus plan at 1-1.... again we were at home, people work hard for the tickets, let them get to see their team unfold itself - even if it means going out.
He has spent so much money I'm afraid this team would work better under him than any other manager available to Napoli.
In Serie A, parking the bus is an art form. Como are just a couple of spots below in the table. They are a good team. KdB is expected back in training in two weeks. He should start playing again in March.
I just dislike him too much now. He is extremely annoying, disgraceful, hypocritical, haughty, sanctimonious, complacent, petulant, aaaand disturbingly annoying. Now I do not even want to talk about some of his decisions in football. It seems like every other coach is fully intent on constantly improving, because THAT is their job, while Conte is constantly imagining scenarios in his mind where he praises himself excessively for the achievements of the past, and explains erroneously the failures of the present, even calls them successes. I cannot help it, I do not see any other coach losing it constantly like him, not being able to take the slightest amount of criticism. It is a shame for the club and its fans. I do not want to be a part of a movement where everything screams 'you're just a crying little bitch'. Oh, but here we are ...
Until KdB is back, its going to be like this. At least Vergara is making us hard and giving us some joy.
Clear as day this league has been rigged to save Inter from bankruptcy. What a dive by Bastoni. Also they get so many dive/soft fouls their way, while when Rubentus do the same dive they get nothing. Barella literally lost his shit at the ref and didn't get booked. It's getting ridiculous now. I hate even hate juve more.
Why dont they show the bastoni dive in replay? Just why? You know they would have shown it 800 times was it mostly anyone other than Bastoni
Do you remember vergara? Do you remember di lorenzo? Those penalties were a real joke. Inter players could be shot at with rubber projectiles in every game, and they would still be better than us... Napoli was quite obviously saved with the Vergara penalty, and now the Inter win helps us as well. Nobody is really thinking about challenging for the title, are they?
I'm not gonna argue with Vergara and Di Lorenzo, they clearly both dived and/or sought the penalty by sticking limbs out and falling over - I hate that these are within the rule book and legitimized as a foul. But what Bastoni did to Kalulu is just plain out distasteful and a discredit to the game - there was no pull/grab or anything like that - he touched him a little bit that's all and now Bastoni is the centre of attention in all of world football because of how unsporting he behaved. This is what the general public atm associate with the Serie A, because let's be honest not many watch the league. Inter last year was also far superior to us imo. They just threw it away, nothing else to say about that. I do however think we should be at least close to their level because I actually believe we have a slightly better squad than they do. They just have more world class players where it matters like their creative players in Di Marco, Sucic, Zielinski. What is our equivalent? Injured KDB and Neres.
That I agree with. Honestly I did not see the incident, as I was watching ice hockey yesterday while travelling to Germany and then in Germany, got drunk to celebrate that Slovakia advanced directly, and completely forgot about the Juve Inter game I had wanted to watch. But if something even more stupid than those dives happened, it is another brick in the wall of shame for Italian football.
Now that I have seen it, I must admit, as much as I am fed up with Conte, the situation in the Inter Juve game was a real shitshow, or as Mr Lahey would have said, shitstorm. These things are really strange, and it really does seem like the black market might be involved in it, even...
VAR was supposed to give us clarity instead it made everything worse. The rules have been kept intentionally retarded so that leagues can still give teams favours if they choose. It’s absurd that a straight red is subject to review but a double yellow does not. Also the criteria by which calls are judged are also stupid because they don’t account for diving. A player flops with the most minimal of contact but the call does not take the dive into account, only the contact. The players know how to game the system. Also no where anywhere has there ever been an effort to seriously combat diving. It’s seen as part and parcel in the sport. But it’s something that can easily be remedied by giving straight red cards. Also they need to introduce retroactive red cards as well
Don't you love it when the only chance you can create in 45 minutes is a spinnazola shot from 35 yards that hits someone's knee. xG of 0.19? No problem
Ok guys, you have to keep the rebound from going right back out there too when you parry a PK. I shouldn't have to explain this to the entire goalkeeping corps.
Conte watches this alisson guy in training and thinks.... hmmm politano is better Also Vergara is so shit at actually creating anything, he needs to drop this street football crap and start getting better at setting his teammates better up. He is also too selfish. We have enough attacking midfielders that become average simply because they refuse learning how to pass a ball.
xG Napoli 0.59 xG Roma 1.70 Before HT Napoli 0.19 Roma 0.68 Even after HT roma had created more than us. We just have better players, who are working miracles being outnumbered in almost every area of the pitch
