Well, to put a negative note on it, this was the only game against a real team, and from what I have heard, as I was not able to watch, we could have lost 10:0, and did not have a single chance until a fluke at the end. Sounds like a lot needs to be figured out before the season starts.
watching first game of the season against modena its HT now. Modena best with 2 chances that could easily have led to a goal, whereas Napoil has had none. Jesus christ we need new players. our midfielders cant pass forwards or track back. Rahmani is still a disaster, I dont understand why he is playing when Oliveira and Marin are available. Raspadori looks like the worst player on Earth, I still don't understand what it is he does. On the positive side it looks like this team might have had some decent shots or headers had Lukaku been in the box, but then again this is against Modena, a serie B team. I fear for this season From the looks of Conte's system it is clear Lukaku is the missing link, we need his hold up play and presence in the box, something he does even better than Osimhen.
Modena played well. I’d be very surprised if they aren’t in the running for promotion into Serie by the end of the Serie B season.
So far, we have done everything both possible and impossible to make this squad even less competitive than last year. One can hardly even believe it, I guess, but it is real.
I did not agree with the Conte appointment but I will always give the manager the benefit of the doubt because I love the shirt too much. I did the same with Garcia last year. However we’re already starting to see the negative aspects of Conte. After one official game, he is already complaining. I agree that the transfer market isn’t complete, but you don’t need to be Real Madrid to beat Modena. I was under the impression that Conte was the guy to take average talents and make them much better. Yet he is unwilling to work with a lot of the current staff. Zanoli was sent away without a look and is having a good pre season with Genoa. Folorunsho is the exact player that Conte likes, yet he was told to find a new team. I really hope that we sign all of our targets because if we don’t Conte will fixate on this for months.

We can’t sign a player unless we sell a player. The reality is starting to settle in for Conte that we have an absolute clown for a president and Napoli is being run like a mom and pops pizzeria
Every single coach we have has past on these players. Either they are wrong or the players aren’t good enough.
Folorunsho had a great season last year and made his way on to the national team. Lazio, Fiorentina are said to be interested, and now we know the even Juve contacted Napoli asking for info. I was listening to Pedulla this morning on a podcast and he said “Breacianini is a good player, but Napoli already have Folorunsho on the roster who just signed an extension. It’s like trading a steak for a hamburger”
The way our national team played this summer makes that achievement nothing to brag about. There has to be something up with him for him to not be wanted by Napoli. I think we are going to take the Lukaku and Casadei deal.
So, 2 days before the 1st official game, and we don't have a striker still. I can already hear the excuse being made after playing Raspa who will not be allowed anything. Let's hope he will have one of those days when he proves us all wrong for a night...
