Both Lookman and de ketelare are great players. I don't know how great they are when there is little space, but in Gasperini's system they flourish. You can put Kvara in any system and he will do something, that is why I believe he is the better player and the best in attacker in Serie a (with Lautaro).

Atalanta far better today. Lukaku was the one being bullied and Lookman was amazing.

Well you can learn more from a defeat than winning sometimes.

beginning of the season everyone thought we would be bottom half of the table at this point. For me seeing a top 4 finish is the goal if Conte can pull some magic and win the league great but our bench needs to be worked on over the next two transfer windows. Neres and maybe Spinna are our only really good options.. Gilmour needs more time.

Good for Atalanta and Gasperini. I saw one Atalanta fan celebrating. Deserved to lose.

Nice deserved beating to bring us back to earth. Atalanta weren’t just better on the day, they are the better team. The only thing saving us this year is the lack of European games.

The defending was poor on the first two goals. On third, we simply got lazy and fatigued.

We had 2 early chances. If one went in, we would have played for it. After going down 0-2, we more or less gave up.

Agreed, Atalanta are a better team and have a better bench. We are in rebuild. Until Osi gets sold, we are stuck.

We spent a decent amount on the market and we still have many holes. I guarantee you that Conte would love to revert to a back 3 but he knows he doesn’t have the wingbacks. Gilmour is a normal player. Nothing special about him at all. I can’t understand why Conte requested him so bad.

    On to the next one.

let’s see what Conte learns from this game we need a big response in our next game.

Kvara would excel more if he had better support. He needs overlapping runners, guys to play 1-2s, and space to move.

On Gilmour, I think Conte feels he can make him into something.

Also let’s not forget this game could have looked different with Lobo. Not saying we would of won but it could of been a different game.

Conte was the manager when Gilmour arrived at Chelsea age 15, not that it means much but he knows the player. I don't think Conte will revert to a back 3 unless he benches Politano and plays Kvara and Lukaku up front with Scott behind. The reason he went with a back 4 is because of the arrival of McTominay imo - a player who is not great in a pivot but also too good to be sat on the bench because a 343 doesn't have a set position for him.

Inter next week and then another international window. After that Roma and Red Bull Turin, and Coppa and League games with Lazio, who have quietly snuck into the top six.
