We really need to get rid of Simeone. He complained that politano didnt pass him the ball, yet he does the exact same thing to Lindstrøm from a worse shooting angle than the one politano had.
Thank God I have exhausted the capacity of being hurt, because this one would have scourged me. The one positive is this, we can now really say this happened because of wasted chances. Politano especially should have scored, and Osi before him.
Didn't see it. Just saw the two consecutive posts into an open net on the same action of play... Anyway, I'm betting if ADL can't get Jose Mourinho, he will go after Claudio Ranieri....
We're into that phase of the season now where the lower half of the table starts winning and drawing games unexpectedly. Not good. You absolutely have to put these teams down in the first half.
The season had already been lost before the arrival of Calzona. We have to evaluate the game with calm. The first half, we were asking for trouble, but we managed. The 2nd half, the goal gave us assurance and we did quite well to create chances, but our impaired mentality still haunts us like a ghost, both in offence, and defence. I still believe Calzona can turn it around. I know him from Slovakia, he took over in dire circumstances, the press criticized his appointment due to his being an assistant, and his salary, of course. In spite of all that, he remained calm, and concentrated on the game fully, answering professionally, not boasting too much after he had proven himself and secured us a spot at the European championship, behind Portugal. Even against Portugal, a game that obviously boasted a difference of quality almost unbelievable, we did not lose with oir heads down. Yes, Portugal was the better team by a long shot, but the team did well to utilize their strengths and cause trouble for a team that will be a favorite at the tournament, if they can keep up their impressive momentum.
We looked good but Sassuolo looked awful. They gifted us our 3rd (3 minutes before half time) and 4th (2 minutes after half time) then gave up.
And that is exactly what we needed. The players will not dwell on that, they will dwell on the win and their rejuvenated confidence. That is how football works. The players, thank goodness, are not too well-versed in philosophy, which means that a victory, an assist, a goal, in any game, can do wonders. Just the psychological aspect of having Osi back, and him doing so well so fast, and Kvara scoring more in one game than in 20, can make the difference for us...
It's a Savoyard invasion for the next week, then the return leg in sunny Barthelonah's llar lluny de casa.
