You can, of course, avoid understanding what I mean deliberately and answer everything with clichés that even a child should see through in a healthy, human society. However, that will not change the fact that the truth that you are describing does not apply to our performances this season. Especially in the last two games, the points were down to penalties. In order to avoid conceding those, you need luck, a high quality goalkeeper (or a good penalty stopper), and MOST importantly, the impotence of the penalty taker. I do not see how, especially the last factor, could be a result of our chasing the LUCK GOD. Additionally, to prove that it is nothing but a cliché further, sometimes it simply does not work at all, but rather gives you the opposite result. How many games have you seen where a team had 19 shots on goal, hit the woodwork 7 times, and still lost the game? We have not been very good this season, and people can see that. The players know it, the coach knows it, and I stand by both. No issue with that. But we cannot just close our eyes to reality and avoid accountability because we find excuses and running away more palatable. Great teams do not do that, in my opinion. Especially in a situation like this, where the fans are disappointed, but still I have not noticed any real backlash from the fan base...
Look there are many things to be negative about in life. I choose to believe that we will eventually hit a good stride me thinking we are shit does nothing. as of now we are still in first place we are still in the play off zone in the CL. I went from believing that id be an old man before I ever saw napoli lift up a Serie a trophy to seeing us lift it up twice in less than 5 years.
I get that, but neither does your positive attitude do anything. I do not think I am negative, to be honest. I have merely described facts as I see them. I think most people agree with this, as you cannot really deny the arguments with the last points in the league or the terrible performances in the CHL. It is not negative, just real. However, we all stand by and with the team. That does not mean that we have to close our eyes and pretend everything is great. It is not. And it is perfectly normal.
Damn we have a game tomorrow. Qarabag FK, the team most likely to be missing diacritical marks in headlines.
I worry about this game, Qarabag have a lot of fast and technical players. It's just insane we have to worry about games like these... Our reserves should be winning at least 3-0 against teams like these. But it's because we don't know how to score goals other than kicking the ball up to our number 9 and hope he wins. I miss the days where we had more attacking strings to attack from and obviously attacking talent like Mertens, kvara or Piguain who could score goals all by themselves out of literally nowhere.
Well Conte is starting the same line up as he did against Bergamo ! I hope the guys come out hungry !
Obviously still games to play this round, but given where the remaining teams are sitting we will still be in the unseeded playoff spaces at the end of this week. We improved our GD by +2, which leaves us at still next to last of the teams not in elimination spots. Remaining are Benfica, Copenhagen, and Chelsea, so perhaps six points available. Might as well write Chelsea off right now.
I feel this team is going to keep gaining in confidence this line up change is what we needed… Neres looked amazing out there…!
