On April 1st, the Naperville City Council will be holding elections for new councilmen. There are two seperate elections...4 year terms and 2 year terms... So what does this have to do with the Fire? Well other than the fact that they decide what goes on somewhat...there are a couple Fire fans running. Dave Fiore is running for a four year term. I've seen him bring his daughter to games and such. Jamie loves the atmosphere of Section 8. Then, Karl Karantonis (my dad! what do you know!? ) is running for a two year term. His race is excepted to be particularly close. He is a Fire fan in training, but has shown the knowledge to know about the Kovalenko trade before I did, pronouce Nowak "No-vak" and not "No-wak", and has just watched his first game last night (one I had on tape). And here's a word you all might like: Tailgating. He supports the idea. Those who are elected will take their place on the council about two weeks later. (Funny, how that is very near the time of the home opener.) You can vote on April 1st or absentee starting this week. We've heard of BigSoccer ballot stuffing...so lets try to get a few more votes out there. Thanks!!! Bethany
