I don't think this has been discussed in the way that I will be doing it, but if this thread needs to be merged with another, go right ahead...

I know that others have the same feeling I do about Namoff. I'm just not convinced he has what it takes.

I know we don't have a player to really play that position with all the injuries and whatnot, but I was wondering about maybe putting Bobby back there. If Arena has thought about it, should Ray?

    What do you guys think?

I think he did his best at a position that he had little experience playing. He made mistakes but if Nick had played up to the level we expected, then Namoff's mistakes would be forgotten.

  3. I also think Namoff did as good a job as he could in a position he is not suited for against a really good player like Klien. Namoff could probally be a decent d-mid if alowed to mature. That being that, he and Convey shut down Klein for most of the game and KC actually switched sides and started picking on the weaker Chino.

I think Convey should be at left back until Prideaux returns. Stewart can play on the left wing and Q1 and Esky can be up front.

  5. Never been a big fan of Namoff's. Maybe it's me, but I just don't see why so many other people are so high on the guy.

I think Namoff's fine as one the last couple of players on the bench because he's versatile enough to play a number of different positions, he works hard, and he has some skill. And he might be able to come up with a strong game once in a while (NY in the next to last game last year). But we're in trouble if we have to start him too frequently.

He's started the last 3 league games for DC (against NY last year, against Dallas last year, and against KC this year) and got burned in two of those games.

Backup d-mid or last resort defender maybe, but not a starter in this league.
