As reported here: http://www.ussocceruk.com/modules.p...le=article&sid=40&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 States that he leaves on Thursday to join up with the team. Any further confirmation of this? Why make the move now with the Gazza deal on hold for the season?
Take it to the bank...just talked to Mark Bushman from www.onthesidelines.org, and they're putting a story up shortly.
Has Namoff actually been cut/waived or is he just being sent down - or loaned, if you prefer - to Richmond to get some games. I mean, didn't Ray and Namoff just say in Diceson's latest report that he wasn't going anywhere?
This seems to completely contradict what namoff said in talking to Dyson at practice the other day. How things can change in a short period of time.
The story's up on the site now, complete with quotes from Richmond's GM. Guess that'a pretty reliable source. www.onthesidelines.org
Looked like it is a loan for the rest of this year but if we waive him after the season, they get to keep him. That sounds pretty permanent to me.
The continued dismantling of this team makes me sad. Hopefully a master plan is in the works but I just don't see it. Bryan: Best of luck with the Kickers!
What I find odd about this is why a team that has been hit by injuries as much as we have would, at this time, give up a player who, marginal though he is, is fairly versatile without someone to replace him? Dave
Maybe we're making room for Mike Petke. The article talks about the possibilities of him being traded.
Why would a team that's solid on defense and can't score want a knob like Petke? No, if we acquire anyone it will be someone who could conceivably put the ball in the net. Making him the what 7th striker to be on the roster this season? Not including Olsen and Pope spending time up there.
******Big Soccer Readers****** My sincere apologies. I misstated a major component of my article on the Bryan Namoff story. I meant to say that a deal had NEARLY been reached, but those of you who read it know the word "nearly" wasn't in there. No deal has been finalized as of this post. It has since been retracted appropriately. Again, my apologies for the mistake. That was not my intent. See, this is what happens when you rush and don't edit properly... What is sad is our record and our inability to score. Whether or not Namoff was given a fair shake, he was not a contributor and therefore shipped off to Richmond. RH isn't going to move someone just for the sake of moving them so hopefully we'll hear pretty soon about a new signing. This shuffling really doesn't bother me that much. We're having trouble putting the ball in the back of the net and so Ray is trying to find the solution,... BEFORE NEXT SEASON. I give him credit for still fighting to get us into the playoffs. It doesn't make much sense to me to bring in Mike Petke. Our D is doing just fine. Moving Namoff for Petke is a waste. If Namoff goes for us to make room for a more offensively minded person, then I am in complete agreeance (is that a word???) with Ray. TS.
We can't hit Nelson, Pope, and Prideaux in the box. Why do we need another guy to watch a free/corner kick?
I knew that....actually there are many jokes implied. Petke in general. Our set pieces. Our offense in general. Can Hudson put a jersey on an get on the pitch?
I don't think it's as far-fetched as you would think. If Petke is on the trading block, then anything is possible. Petke and Diallo for Lassiter and McKinley, perhaps? That'll kill our cap space... Dave
My eyeballs just exploded from reading that. And now I am barfing from the thought, since I can't see to read it anymore. I think I am dying................
