The "villas"? I know what the villas look like in Buenos Aires, but...the villas of Sterling? RFK? Anybody know what he's talking about?
He probably means the apartment-condo-dorm-thingies that are right next to the training fields. I believe the villas are the housing for student-athletes at the IMG Academy/US Soccer Residency program.
Yeah, that´s is exactly what they refered to them as when I was there. It was still the Adidas Soccer Academy then, but I doubt they would have stopped calling the dorms villas because of a financial partner change..
You have to like the sound of this, particularly coming from someone who's been around long enough to know something. I know there's another thread discussing all the terrible things that can happen to the team this year, but this is really heartening.
BTW, 'smitten with' is a terrible phrase to use in this context. It is commonly used to imply a schoolgirl crush. A better phrase, one that doesn't make Namoff sound like a fanboy, might be 'impressed by'.
Not to threadjack, but I was at the scrimmage against the U-23's and Namoff was definitely "smitten", definitey not "impressed by".
