This from the article on Wilson:

Bryan Namoff has been hit hard by the injury bug in 2005, having overcome a fractured rib only to be sidelined by a strained hip flexor -- which has led to abdominal/groin problems that will require a transatlantic trip next week to visit a specialist in Germany.

I am really hoping this isn't the end of Bryan's season!
    Any other insight out there?

Its not looking good for Namoff. I really hope he gets better quickly but he's had 3 different injuries already this year. It'll take some doing to get him back in action.

This really sucks, for us and him. Hope the specialist has some good news.

I find it a tad odd that he's going to Eurpe to see a specialist when typically it's players from Europe who come to the US when doc's over there can't fix them. I don't mean to say that the US has cornered the market on all health care and that our Dr.'s are the be all end all, I just find it odd. I wonder if he's going to see the guy that Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen visited to help overcome their hamstring problems?

Could be the classic example of a frustrated patient. A lot of desperate people believe they have to go to a foreign country to receive acute treatment for their wounds. In a few cases, there is specialization at clinics with specific doctors.

2 reason. One, is that while the US probably has the best pharmecutical R&D in the world (because of lack of regulation of pharmecutical prices), our "doctors" are no better than doctors anywhere else. The second, which ties into the first, is that the type of injury Namoff sustained may be a common soccer ailment, and it may make more sense to go to a place where doctors are more familiar with treating it. Just my two cents.

We really need to be looking for 2 defenders, not just 1. Funny how just a couple of weeks ago, Prideaux was poo-pooing the idea that United needed to be going to Argentina to even look for 1 defender.

early in the season, we had too many strikers, then too many midfielders, then too may defenders. An injury or two, and a poor performance or two and we are mighty thin anywhere you look.

just goes to show, you can never have enough [fill in the blank].

I can't believe a half hour went by without anyone filling this in with something obscene. There are so many possibilities...

Who knows, maybe Landon Donovan recommended a Doctor over there. ;)

LD: Bryan, I know it's a hell hole over in Germany, but I found this amazing doctor.......

I don't know what's funnier about your joke. The joke itself, or that Namoff could have a friendly conversation with LD.

Simple - DCU told him they had an appointment set up with Tino's doctor and Namoff ran to Europe.

Didn't we send somebody to Europe last year to go see some doctor that Nowak recommended?

I think it may have been Tino.......

When Tino was having all those issues, he should have gone to see one of Jaime's Bolivian witch doctors :)
