Making it's debut at Thursday's Derby game...

The new Metro drum. Taking name ideas. Winner gets beer or something. Winner under 21 gets an a$$ whoppin. Not really.

It's 32" by 16", the largest bass drum made by Yamaha. I can't really explain how big it is, other than to say I can fit in the box it came in, and I ain't tiny. It's mildly used, and possibly not entirely in tune. I will have it tip top by the start of next season, with proper mallets and what not. And no, I have relatively no idea how to play, other than to mimic Serg whenever possible. (back on the right in the photo below). If anyone knows what the largest drum in the league is, I'm kind of curious if this is close. I know La Norte have a nice drum. Hopefully this will add some extra aguante to 101.

Looking forward to dropping the bomb on DC. Let me know your thoughts. I'm stuck on "Drumbo" and the "self aggrandizement noise maker".

good so far. keep em coming. And no, that isn't my set of fly wal mart sneakers in the photo. At this point, I am just hoping it fits in my car door. I can't explain the size, you just have to see it. It retails for $ 1000, but I got in on ebay for considerably less. More than my season tickets, though. I have to try to pick up a harness tomorrow.

I say you call it "The Legend" in honor of all the great ESC and LA Doce drummers before you, of which you are now a part. Let the legend continue my friend.

    Gives me an idea.

Id say we rename the 2 drums to Thunder and Lighting. SInce one is white and one is blue, they can be BLUE THUNDER and WHITE LIGHTING.

    or

You can name it the Blue Meanie

Beer to Footix. Anna Nicole wins it.

Though, thunder and lightning is a quality idea.

Frankly, I don't see a conflict. Anna Nicole is thunder...

Jamison, with all the ink this drum is getting, you better be ready to jam on it, or this is going to be the most disappointing musical debut since Invincible.

Geez, such pressure. The drum is large and will not disappoint. I, on the other hand, reserve the right to sound tone deaf. I am white after all, and I did mention as much in the original post. On the plus side, I've been practicing following along to Phil Collins songs from his "soul" period, so I should be ok ;). As soon as I can get a metro version of "susudio" up on metrofanatic, I'll let you know.
