Ok, it's two days since Tottenham Hotspur have played, and another two until we play again, so what's to satiate a fella's Spurslust? Why, it's only the newest, most engaging (or, perhaps, lamest) THFC-related thread since Jumhed raised the curtains on Kanoute is Pants and Smells of Wee. It's Name that Yiddo! How's it work, you ask? Well, it's quite simple, I'm going to post an image of a former Tottenham Hotspur player, and the first one to give the correct answer gains a point. He may then post an image of his choosing, or - if he doesn't wish to exempt himself from eligibility for a round - simply wait for me to post another one. Or, what the hell, anyone can just post any image whenever they wish. The winner will be the first to accumulate ... oh, who cares. Besides, I like to think that anyone who participates in Name that Yiddo! is a winner. Am I right? ... don't answer that. and remember, Googling is for fairies. Ok ... here we go ...
Doesn't really look like him, but the pudding basin haircut suggests Graham Roberts. Fun fact, that was my exact haircut at the time.
oh, that looks like a young Peter Taylor. He's happy because he doesn't know how shit England will be when he gets his moment at the helm. ok ... given the limited responses, it appears as though there are few enough folks here of a certain vintage that going back too far might constrain the participation (or, of course, folks just don't give a shit, which is fair enough). but i'm going to carry on, and bring it a bit closer to contemporary. Anyone ... ?
John Duncan. I'll let one of the youngins guess the next one... conveniently hiding my relative ignorance of the Holsten years
damn. I had completely forgotten about John Duncan. I mean, like, completely. I remember when I was doing that Mark Falco post on the other thread, I had been thinking about Spurs forwards before and after his era. Duncan never even came to mind. He was there when I first started following Spurs. I haven't thought about him in yonks.
The edit at the top of the picture made me think Gazza, but I know that is wrong. Then I though Stefan Iversen, but I think he was skinnier. Then I cheated.
iversen would've been a good guess. when I brought up images of the player to post a photo, I thought to myself that a few of them looked like iversen. he was there at the same time, too, and would've worn that shirt. ... ooh, we were so shyte back then. good times.
Rebrov is correct. quick guess; i'm going with Noe Pamarot. gimme a sec and I'll get someone else up ... edit: just googled to confirm, only to come back here and see 'Pamarot' there on his sock.
That's Ruel Fox. I'll share with you guys a photo I took last time I went home. Ruel Fox is in the picture but who else gents?
From the left: Teddy Sheringham? 'keeper Ian Walker. The aforementioned Stefan Iversen? I kind of want to say Stan Collymore, but I think that is wrong. Justin Edinburgh? Ruel Fox Not sure. "Sicknote" on the right? And I see you are showing your disdain for one of my favorite players (but I understand why) up front. I was a defender when I played.
Between the two of you, you've got all except 3, 5 and 7. They're pretty tough - 3 is a right back, 5 is a center back, 7 is a central mid.
#7 could be Jason Dozzell, I suppose ... on the chance that the folks at Corinthians thought him lighter-skinned than Darren Anderton and Ian Walker. or perhaps it's the lighting in the photo?
So Pook gets Jason Dozzell, leaving an English uncapped right back and a Scottish center back. I think you'll get the CB; I actually had to google a clue for the RB; he is now actually an assistant coach in the Premier League.
