on the field, and even more with the ball at his feet, and even more in any somewhat tricky situation where thought and knowledge of the game is involved, he looks like a total bufoon. similar to a track star they throw pads on and line up at wr. hes no soccer player
the "shot" he took with no angle with a guy wide open in front of goal made me sick to my stomach. its disgusting a player gets paid to play the game, and pulls such an amateur move.
I remember bashing Albright when Sigi would always start him at forward despite his suckiness. I could not figure out why except maybe Albright had compromising pics of Sigi. Perhaps Naldon't also has that ace in the hole with Stevie.
The commentators were praising Naldo. I almost threw up on my television. I lost all respect for them after that. "Doug Hamilton is a genius and Naldo is a great player." Next they'll be saying that Rosie O'Donnel should be the new girl for the cover of Victoria Secret.
They said a really funny statement about Naldo. "Naldo has been doing all the right things today! Like running up and down the field." LOl, they couldn't find anything more useful that he did then that.
This guy does blow! I thought he'd be an all-star before the season started! He led the Swiss league in scoring last year.
I've had all I can stand! I can stands no more! SHUT THE FVCK UP! piss and moan, piss and moan. Naldo is out there working as hard as anyone on the field and has produced more than Pando ramirez. why isn't there a thread dedicated to his lack of ability? pando has 43 shots taken and zero goals. almost every post about naldo is about him missing a chance. well guess what. he's only had 12 shots and at least he got one in. maybe naldo isn't producing as much as he could, but who is? The poor guy does not speak english ( I know. I have spoken to him in portuguese ) he is adjusting to the new culture, the new style of play. It's not an easy thing. http://socal.matchnight.com/thgindex.cfm?page=ARTICLE&show=311 His one goal so far earned us our ONLY POINT ON THE ROAD THIS SEASON! http://la.galaxy.mlsnet.com/MLS/new...ent_id=30591&vkey=news_lag&fext=.jsp&team=lag his first assist led to Pete "just figured out how to score this year" vagenas scoring the game winner against our main rival for the past ten years - sad jose! http://la.galaxy.mlsnet.com/MLS/new...ent_id=35975&vkey=news_lag&fext=.jsp&team=lag His second assist, so far, led to our THIRD GOAL ON THE ROAD THIS SEASON! out of 7 games! (not counting the 2 goals @chivas) that makes 2 out of 3 goals on the road are because of Naldo! more than the rest of the team COMBINED has produced on the road. what the sh!t?!?!?!?! I ask you... what the sh!t?!?!?!?!
I hear ya. as much as I want to rip my hair out everytime he touches the ball I must say that I do agree with you in some ways.
Actually, he does suck. And saying "he's not as bad as Pando" isn't much of an endorsement. Remember, he's filling a Senior international slot on our roster. Expectations for him must be measured against that. Look at how SI's on other teams are performing and tell me that, compared to them, Naldo does not suck. And I don't care whether he speaks English or not - he still sucks. And, BTW, Sasha scored again Saturday - the game winning goal for KCW.
compare him to everybody on the galaxy first. really look at the stats. the team has produced three goals in 7 road games. 2 because of Naldo. How many goals has donovan produced? the highest paid player in the league has produced less on the road than naldo. naldo has only 8 starts while Kirovski and jones have 15 each. 4 of naldo's starts have been on the road (five if you count the game against chivas as away) In the worst road team in the league, he has produced more than anyone else. you might be right. saying he's better than a group of underperformers isn't saying much. and all you jerks bitching about naldo ain't saying much either.
I'm not saying the guy doesnt suck. I'm just saying that as horrifying as it is to watch Naldo with the ball, he has definitly produced more for us than others on OUR team. I also agree the point from Cadaver in that we expect more of him because of his role. Maybe if he was a 2nd string defender or midfielder we wouldnt be such haters. The fact of the matter is that he got us a point in Salt Lake and was responsible for some game winning assists. What has Pando done for the Galaxy even remotely close to this besides being a great ball hogging dribbler? Although I think Pando's case is a direct result of Sampson not playing him correctly.
Must've been a fluke that worked in our favor. That's great but since then, not much else. Perhaps he should try giving the assist more often. I remember one instance against Metro where he could've dished it off to Gordon for a better shot. If hadn't been for Herc having the guts (and luck?) to make that shot, Naldo wouldn't have had that. He's doing a bit more than Pando but both are wearing my patience very thin. I think even without Naldo or Pando we'd still suck on the road.
why don't we all just get to a happy medium and agree that they pretty much all suck? Away games they all suck at the same time while at the home games a handful of players(different at each home game of course) at least like to look good in front of their family(be it real family or the G fans)
Are you somehow trying to infer that Naldo is better than Donovan? And even though Naldo may have been one of two players who got credited for the assist of Gomez's goal on Saturday, the reason why the ball went into the goal had everything to do with Gomez and Gomez only, not Naldo or Nagaumura. Saying that Naldo has produced more than anyone else on the Galaxy's poor road run is like saying Tammy Faye Baker is the hottest chick on PTL. You can argue all you want, but that ain't going to change the fact that a dog is still a dog. If you don't think Naldo sucks, you're not paying attention. Stats only tell a small part of the story. Naldo has given away far more opportunities than he has given the Galaxy. The guy consistently fails to have much awareness of what's going on around him, he's constantly offsides, he makes poor passes and often isn't paying attention when the ball is passed his way, missing the pass as it goes straight to a defender. His positioning is poor and he's often shut down by defenders. He stops playing through on fouls, waiting for the whistle that he won't get. Naldo shots are incredibly weak--so weak that it seems more like he's passing the ball to the opposing goalkeeper (which is how it looks when the ball gingerly rolls along the ground to be easily scooped up by the keeper). The goal that he did make against RSL was very weak--it was more telling of poor goalkeeping than any shooting prowess by Naldo. For every good play Naldo makes, he makes another 100 unnecessary, unforgivable mistakes (kinda what Vagenas was inferring in his quote after getting a goal off a Naldo assist). If you want to play the stat game, explain why after playing 807 minutes in 16 games with 8 starts Naldo still hasn't figured out the MLS style of play yet? If bitching about Naldo makes me a jerk, fine, I'm a jerk. But at least I'm not an idiot.
when some one points to a soccer player's stats it just shows me that this person is a base ball person and should be ignored when giving his/her opinion about a certain soccer player. Soccer is just so much more than stats. Stats don't show failed passes, whether or not a player was in the right position, whether he started a play, whether he can anticipate a play or not, whether he can read the game or not, whether a players does his job defensively, etc. etc.
its all moot. w/o donovan in the game, there isn't someone who can step in and be more productive than naldo. usually because sampson doesn't use them correctly.. its all sampson's fault. i say we bring in a better coach and then see how well naldo does.
