N.Ireland got a great result, and perhaps they are able to make a few more upsets, but they are not going to qualify for the Euro finals playing like this.

No your not, since you do not qualify for a big tournament by defending with 8 men and only having 29% possession. It may earn you a draw now and then, but it wont get you the points needed in the long run. Also, in the match against Iceland we saw that this N.Ireland team dont have what it takes when they need to take charge of a match.

Great result for us and the best away trip yet!

Ceres, never underestimate us, imo the only thing in the way of us qualifying is us ourselves, procession means f*ck all, yes we spent most of the game defending but we had a couple of chances on goal. We need to defend that well in every game and take the couple of chances we'll create to score, you'll find in near enough any game one chance is all Sir David needs to score, i'll take 1-0 wins all the way to the Finals.

We were sh*te against Iceland, the players know that but they are more confident and determined than ever to make a real go of this, we stayed in the same hotel as the team in Copenhagen and i've never known the team spirit to be as good as it is at the moment, they're going to put up one hell of a fight, we need to get some consistency going.

Sweden will win the group, they've yet to drop points but imo second place is up for grabs for whoever wants it most and believe me, our players want this more than anything, if we can cut out the silly mistakes and other results in the group go our way we can do it!!

If we do Northern Ireland will be a very quiet place in the summer of 2008, everyone will be in Austria and Switzerland!!

Denmark played poorly in Copenhagen, but was never in any danger of actually losing the match. You defended well and also had a bit of luck on your side, but you were infact nowhere near scoring a goal ...

Looking at the quality of your squad, then Iceland got a much better team on paper, so it's a bit ridiculous to think that you got your faith in your own hands in this group... If Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland just show their real potential against you, then you surely lose the match, no matter if you give it your best shot.

Well we will beat Liechinstan for sure in the next match. So that will be us on 10 points.

You play Spain. So that will be tight. And i think Spain might win.

Then we play Sweden. All the fans will up for this game and we may pull of another England/Spain. Sweden are overrated as well.

Then we have Liechensten at home. Which should be three points.

So we could very well get 9 points out of 9 in the next 3 games. But at least 6 points.

So we could be on 16 points. And with very good chance of top 2.

Anything can happen. But i think we are on are way! :) :)

I agree that Sweden have actually not looked good in their games (except against Spain) so far, but somehow still managed to get the points needed, so it will not be impossible for you to get a point out of a Swedish side that (at least on paper) clearly seem less talented than both Spain and Denmark.

As for getting a very easy away win against Lichtenstein, then you should not look too much at their last home result in this group against Denmark and get your hopes up too high, since you should not get the impression that Liechtenstein is as poor a team as the likes of Luxembourg, Malta, Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan.

In the WC-06 qualifiers Lichtenstein beat Luxembourg 3-0 at home and 4-0 away, and besides their two draws at home against Portugal (2-2) and Slovakia (0-0), they only lost 1-2 at home to Russia and they also got fairly close to getting a point in Portugal (losing 1-2 in the end). So they are not quite as bad a team as it may look in the Standings so far.... and dont forget that they actually did cause the Swedish NT quite some trouble in Sweden..

Lichtenstein is usually a very good counter attacking team, and especially Mario Frick who scored against Sweden and also has scored 3 goals in 5 Italian league games for Siena this season, has looked good for them in the past. However, against Denmark he was just totally closed down in midfield by Christian Poulsen and by the Danish defense. But I think you most likely will struggle against this team just as Sweden did at home.
