Hi. Anybody know what happened to "MySportsGermany" ? Up until the end of the season I was able to watch this channel and consequently all of the BuLi live. Now, it's called "MyGermanTV" or something. Now my question is--I do not necessarily mind the name change, as long as I can still watch the Bundesliga on its entirety on the channel. Do we know anything on this? Oliver? Thanks in advance for any info.
Easy answer: the new channel on DISH will no longer be 100% German sports. There will be German entertainment mixed in. It is ultra-niche. English-speaking viewers of the Bundesliga will get enough coverage via ESPN.com and GOLTV (USA). Good luck in finding GOLTV (USA) in English 3-4 months from now, however. I suspect most MSOs will decide to remove GOLTV (USA) from the sports tiers after the La Liga TV war has been resolved. DIRECTV will no longer have a spot for GOLTV (USA) in the 600's, relegating it to channel 426 in the middle of the Spanish-language sports TV neighborhood.
That's not necessarily true for everyone (myself included) . But anyhow, will this channel offer any Bundesliga at all?
That's not necessarily true for everyone (myself included) . Let's not forget not everyone has access to ESPN.com (is that the same as ESPN3??). But anyhow, will this channel offer any Bundesliga at all?
Here's the scoop....the German package on Dish now includes MyGermanTV and MyGermanTV+. The MyGermanTV+ channel WILL have Bundesliga matches. A scrolling message on the channel stated that Bundesliga will be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From this I gather that the channel may only show live matches (with the Saturday 1530 kickoffs jumping from match to match like it did last season). It seems that Bundesliga II may have been sacrificed along with tape-delayed coverage of Bundesliga matches throughout the week. The message was short and with little details but live Bundesliga seems alive and well on MyGermanTV+ (channel 9824). SA www.soccertvblog.com
I understand that the media environment has changed in ways that people expect instant access to whatever they want, but folks who can wait a day or two to watch a game there is no problem finding high quality (i.e., HD) Bundesliga games. No need to watch low quality streams. But, again, this requires some patience, which may or may not work depending on the general enjoyment one gets from football that extends beyond seeing the game (e.g., participating in forum discussions, reading blogs, etc.).
Meaning? If you're referring to my ESPN3 comment/question, neither one of my satellite providers (DirecTV or Dish) actually offers it. In other words, no: I cannot watch ESPN3.
There are plenty of options available to download HD files of games, but it takes time for folks in Germany to upload games. Pus the Konference (sp?) approach to broadcasting in Germany means that these folks in Germany have to wait for repeat broadcasts of complete games before they can capture and upload. Sometimes that takes a few days, especially when there are CL and EL mid-week matches. Again, people who want to see games live or during the same day will not like this option. Others who are less worried about timeliness will just need a fast Internet connection and perhaps a paid account with a file uploading site (or a lot of patience if dealing with free accounts).
I hope that MyGermanTV + will show MY club, Felix Magath and VfL Wolfsburg, which will be contending for Europa if not the CL or the title. I am going into my 3rd season this August 20th (that being our first round match of the DfB-Pokal) as a loyal hardcore Wolfsburg Supporter and plan to buy both the new 2012-13 home (green) and away (white) adidas trikots/jerseys (I have a contact over in Germany who buys them from the VfL Wolfsburg Wolfeshop and ships them to me here in Port Townsend) in order to be REALLY ready when I get up at 6:00 am PT (West Coast US Time) to watch them, but we need better options than the occasional pirate streaming sites to see VfL LIVE, hopefully MyGerman TV will offer something to view on my 32" Vizio in HQ if not HD, instead of the low-quality streams like the pirate sites have. But no matter how I get to watch the VfL LIVE, the Johnsonville brats (to stick with the German theme) will still be grilling on the George Foreman Grill, and the toasted bagels from Metro Bagels (www.metro-bagels.com) and the morning decaf will still be ready come kickoff (at 6:30 am PT), all that would matter afterwards is where (the PC or my home theatre) I will be enjoying them. Wouldn't the MSOs have to pay GOLTV for termination of carriage contracts or do such things not exist?
The carriage contract for GOLTV (USA) should have either expired already (July 31) or be subject to immediate renegotiation due to loss of La Liga, which is a material change to the programming being offered.
Nope, I don't, but, I DO go to bed early the night before a match in order to be more awake come Matchday at 5:30 am.
All games are also broadcast life. Konferenz is not something exclusive. Some people prefer Konferenz some like to watch single games.
Hi BIGHMW, I have a subscription to Kabel Deutchsland and stream 1 & 2. BL live every week. This summer, added another 2 receivers. So we'll do about 4-6 matches + Konferenz for early Saturday kickoff (09.30 ET). We only use HD receivers & capture cards, so its top notch stuff I'll hook you up for free this season, and send you a PM. If there are any other hardcore Bundesliga people out there, I can help you out, just send a PM. --Matador
1. Dishnetwork "German Package" (link HERE). - This package (specifically MyGermanTV+ channel) will get you all games live (Saturday morning matches in Konferenz style). Not in HD. 2. DirecTv - GOL-TV. - I would hold off here to see what happens to the channel as it will likely be taken off the Sports Package and relegated to Spanish tier only. Should know in next 30-45 days. 3. Streams on internet. - No lack of streaming options with decent quality. If you don't mind delayed, many sites now exist that post HD quality matches same-day. Just Google something like "full matches in hd"... SA www.soccertvblog.com
I'd assume the same would hold true for FSC/+ then, as they've lost TWO leagues. Then again, perhaps the programming was built with EPL as the 'primary' offering. Granted, D* would be stupid to do this and lose Champions/Europa.

Does that mean that I can watch each single game on Saturday morning or does Konfernz style mean that they are flipping between the various matches? Thnx, misti
Konferenz means flipping between matches. Last season, when the games were on "MyGermanSports" channel, complete games were broadcast later in the day and throughout the week. We won't know how they will handle matches this season until next weekend.... SA www.soccertvblog.com
If anyone wants high quality live streams of most 1 & 2. BL matches (plus all beINSport US matches), you can send me a message (start a conversation its called on this forum/software) ; include your email address, and I'll get you added & details sent to you. (P.S. I'll add you free.)
GOL TV has released its schedule for the first weekend of Bundesliga and it includes FIVE matches, all LIVE, and featuring a match in each of the unique time slots. ESPN, which sublicenses a couple of games per matchday, has not listed theirs as of yet, but usually show acouple of more. It has yet to be seen whether GOLTV continues to broadcast an agressive slate of German games, but it looks promising for fans of the league.
