- TODAYS GAMES [R]: If you are a US and Brazil fan like I am, this was one SADDD day. The US was HORRIBLE during 90% of the match. When they scored we all knew they didnt deserve to be on top. I BLAME Arena for starting Kirovski while guys like MATHIS and STEWART are sitting on the bench. That was a BONEHEAD move all the way no matter what spin you put on it. The US bordered pathetic. Whe I asked 2 days ago "Will the REAL USA please stand up" I was refering to either the 98 USA or the 2002 USA and it looks like the 98 USA may just be the REAL USA. We had nobody in command of the team and absolutley no midfield for most of the game. It was one sad display. To my surprise, worse than the US was Brazil. Totally pathetic display. The team seemed lost. Here I blame the equipment manager that pulled out the hidious combo of WHITE SHORTS and YELLOW Jersey. That should be illegal! Now on Saturday we have the battle of the losers Brazil x USA and now the Turkey x Cameroon game becomes extremely important. I think a TIE in that game would be best BUT that would mean that the loser of Brazil x US would be eliminated. As a US/Brazil fan the only way both make it to the next round is if there are TWO TIES on Saturday. This would allow Brazil and the US to enter the field on Monday needing both to win BIG to make it to the next round. As a US fane individually you have to be worried. Brazil probably came into this game after a 3-0 win over Nigeria thinking it would be a cakewalk, Brazil had never lost a game against an African nation (excluding olympics) they were 18-0, now 18-1. So on Saturday the Brazilian team will refocus and let it all out against the US. BUT that can be a good thing for the US. We will have to wait and see. But the US does need a leader, someone to control the midfield. OH and what the heck was all that LONNNGGGGGGG ball garbage. All we did was make 50 Yard passes, most of which always failed to connect. This was a bad start.
It was FIFA, not the equipment manager. You might have noticed that in almost every match, one team was wearing white/light color shirt with white shorts and the other was wearing darker shirt with dark shorts. Japan (blue/blue, insead of blue/white) - NZ (white/white) France (blue/white) - Colombia (yellow/blue) USA (white/white instead of white/blue) - Turkey (red/red) Brazil (yellow/white instead of yellow/blue) - Cameroon (green/red) Colombia (yellow/blue) - NZ (white/white) Japan (blue/blue instead of blue/white) - France (white/white instead of white/blue) It's the same as the World Cup - I think they make it so it's easier to distinguish for TV studios that use B&W monitors.
What day is today? One problem with threads labled "My thoughts on today's games" is I don't know what day today is!!!
