So I decided to do the football wagers bit this season. I originally was going to do a weekly thing for HPI but since that isn't up yet I just wanted to track my winnings. (There's to be no losing, mate) So I'm imagining that CCS is like any stadium in England, the curbside plastered with booths and touts and the like. Wouldn't be a match without a few pounds on the result. So I'm doing it two ways: First, just straight Crew to win. Every week. $100. I'm shopping a bit for the best odds, but other than that, no hedging. (Also, I'm using European style odds. American odds are too much work, and UK fractionals don't make it with me) Second, I'm betting the league. However many games there are. All individually, not a parlay. Lose your stinkin shirt that way. So, anyway, if you haven't moved on yet, (and Lord knows why) here's week one: Crew to win @ 2.18 (a solid favorite for some reason). Lose $100. DC to win @ 2.61 Dal - Col to Draw @ 3.18 Fire to win @ 2.56 LA to win @ 1.73 CLB to win 2.18 (I know, stupid to take crew twice to win. Paid for it, too) So I won $161 on DC, 218 on the Rapids draw (my big hit) and 73 bucks on the Gals (incredibly short odds). Lost $200 When the F*re couldn't get their act together and, of course, I bet the Crew with my heart and not my haed. Net first week: $252.00. I'm buying.
Sorry. Hadn't gotten around to posting this yet. I got great odds on the Crew: shopped around and found then at 4.60 (ie. $100 wagered would return $460. Of course, it didn't matter a lick. Down another $100 on the "Crew to Win" sweepstakes. Overall though, another up week. Took the Metros over DC for 2.00 and hit on San Jose for 2.73 as well as KC over the crew for 1.78. (Sad when a team as mediocre as the Wiz are so heavily favored, but that's life with Greggie) Bet on the Fire again like an idiot. What's the deal there? And I took LA to win over the Raps. Total wagerd: $500. Total payout: $651 Net: $151 Season total: $403. Lap dances for everybody.
So I forgot to post a week ago. It was bad. Real bad. If I run across it I'll put it here but, honestly, I gotta stop betting Crew. Costing a fortune. As for LAST weekend: 1) Usual $100 to win on the Crew @ 2.45 from Expekt.com. Usual $100 tossed away. Total so far: $ 400 2) Took SJ at home over DC. A freakin TIE for Gods' sake. Only me. Down $100. Also had LA over the Revs, which went sour as well, down another $ 100. But I got it right with Crew-Burn drawing at CCS ($ 307 to the good) and I also called Wiz over Raps at a modest $207.. The swing game, the one that hurt, was another game I called a draw: Fire-Tards, for another $ 100 bone job. Total wagered: $500. Total won: $514 Net: $ 14. Total this season: $417. Lucky to get out of that one alive.
