With todays closing of the transfer window and more faces going out than coming in again at celtic park I again ask what the fvck is going on??
Alright Hedman, guppy and petta were dead weight and I dont grieve their moving to pastures new one little bit but I have learned today of Stephen Craineys signing for west ham, now that one I can not accept, Stephen Crainey is a young international who at every oppertunity has done nothing but show he can easily be a first team member of celtic football club, why a useless bag of shite like ulrik laursen is favoured ahead of him ill never know (well actually I do its cos stephen aint the tallest and MON likes big men!) even if he wasnt champions league material, and in his few appearances in it he held his own, he could easily be a useful SPL squad player.
So what is the reasoning behind letting him go?
Are we going to replace him with michael gray? who did nothing on trail with us like we got varga after he did nothing on trial with us?
Today ive heard we have an aussie keeper that failed with crewe on trail, possibly signed and a 22 year old nobody from MLS on trial too, what the hell is happening? why are so many of our fans always convinced the board are waiting for the next transfer window to surprise us with a big signing, why are they so happy to settle for this mediocrity piling high in our squad while the millers and the craineys walk away or are sold for peanuts.
It just aint good enough, ive known tightarsed celtic boards my whole life and this one is by far the worst, we havent signed a first team player for a fee in 3 seasons, three fvcking seasons!!!! can anyone else think of a club our size who can boast that kind of record?
especially one who have been in a european final in the last 3 years!
Shocked and disgusted with the men running celtic today, just when you think it can not get any worse.

    Wow!

You sound like a Chicago sport's fan. Sports teams that make tons of money and draw lots of fans, but never take any risks and go for it all.

I will pray that you don't get an ulcer.

It's simple really. Celtic are making a financial loss therefore need to save money. Also Celtic are really at their peak right now, they can't attract a better quality player to the SPL.

They've had more success in the last few years than they have had in a long time. UEFA cup final last year, 11 points clear this year. It seems some people are never happy! Would you rather be like Rangers and spend silly money and get no success and end up with huge debts?

away and no talk pish morton, look at it this way, at the end of the season larsson is offski, so is likely mjallby and lambert, lennon is on his last legs, joos isnt far behind, hartson will likely be away too.
Now we still havent replaced moravcik, petta is away, guppy is away, burchill was let go, crainey is gone and in that time we have signed stan varga (pish) david fernandez, we let him go back on loan to his old club, pearson, unproven, and eh..........nobody.
Our squad is aging and has gotten weaker in every successive transfer window, im sure even morton have managed to bring some players in, at the end of the season we lose at least 3 first team regulars, so we are going to have to spend to replace them anyway.
In this time we have reached a uefa cup final, the group stages of the champions league twice, we have released untold videos and dvds and books, at least three strips, every year we sell 55,000 season tickets and there has been a price hike in those for the last three seasons running and we also released a twenty five million pound share issue, we operate a yearly loss of 3 million IIRC.
we have a 17 million debt in the form of a loan to our major shareholder which is paid back gradually to 2021 and you are trying to tell me in all that accumulation they cant make 4-5 million available for one or two decent buys in a depressed market?

    PISH!

Its standard celtic pennypinching to a degree never before seen, I was out in the car park demanding the bunnets head for more investment than this.

You can't expect Celtic to keep up at the same level forever. Replacements for players like Larsson, Lennon, Sutton, Lambert, Harton etc won't just appear. They will be hard to find. Celtic don't have the money or pulling power (being in the SPL) to find better players. Celtic ARE making financial loses. Which means they have been overspending on wages, which means they will have to cut back. Which in turn means success on the park might not be so high.

I do agree that money will have to be spent in the summer, but i'd advise being patient until then.

Im not asking for ronaldo and figo, europe is full of players we could get and could afford, Oneill has said in the past he has had no problem attracting players to the SPL, the problem is a tight arsed board sitting on millions and millions in a bid to up the share price, one eye on getting us into another league and the sheer arrogance that we are good enough to compete in europe and be head and shoulders above the rest of the SPL with the aging quality and mounting dross that calls itself our first team, we arent and despite the shambles that is the huns I can see next season being a tighter race, not cos the forces of darkness are improving its cos we are stagnating and its simply not good enough, wait till the summer, believe it or not i was saying that myself two christmases ago.
