Looks like NY/NJ and L.A. will be the favorites to win the MLS cup. How close am I on that prediction?

I want to see Eddie Johnson play more.
The only Burn game I've ever gone too, he came in as a sub and looked so much bigger and faster than everyone else. Is he going to start this year?

At this point, you could start at forward for the Burn, Nolan. Everyone is injured.

Welcome to BS and the Burn forum.

NY? HA! L.A., maybe. I want to see Johnson do something this season, or we should boot him!

welcome to the Burn, get ready for a constant roller coaster.

I don't know where you're pulling NY from! They'll self destruct when Mathis has pms. I'm looking for the Revs to come out of the east again, followed by DC or Columbus. And watch out for the Rapids. If LA has defensive year jitters, the Rapids are going to stick a frog (Grimandi) up their bums.

Inconsistency of performances by the team as a whole. Sometimes the Burn plays a wonderful, one-touch spider-web passing game. Other times, they look like the dullest, least-inspired team in the League. My experience swings between wild adoration and downright anger, with precious little in between. Some teams win ugly, Dallas tends not to.

You should also expect Jeffries, rightly or wrongly, to avoid playing some "potential" players -- Johnson, Thomas, O'Brien, etc. It wouldn't surprise me if he sometimes benches Vaca, Countess, and Davis. To a fan on the web, that may seem like a dunderheaded move, but he often goes for some safe selections (Broome, Rhine, Deering) to play it a little more conservative.

The VERY reason Dallas continues to NOT be a threat for the Cup. Welcome to BS, and good luck rooting for that stinkin' club.

I think we're bringing McKeon in just to 'squish-the-fish'... but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

That would be funny if it wasn't more then just the Clint Mathis show. Very balanced team, lots of good talent in cap. Be suprised.

If Metro performs to capability and Dallas does as well, Metro-Burn would be a nice cup final me thinks.

Unfortunately, your first expectation here in the Jeffries era should be an opening day home loss. It doesn't help that we will be facing the defending champ for the second season in a row, but we even opened up with a loss to Tampa in their contraction season. Maybe a change of venue will help this year.

If you go to this page, you'll see a picture of Dragon Stadium. Click on it and you'll get a large map.

If Mathis scores a goal a game, you'll still be a bottom dweller.

shakes head poor metro fan, if he only knew what he was talking about.

you can expect random trash talking by the king of all trash talking Segroves. This one is particularly weak because it's ironic, him being a Chicago fan and all.

As of right now it looks like you can expect an average crowd of 7,500 or less.
