I'm usually the first to denounce every reality tv show as the stupidest thing ever to be seen on tv but I overheard the first few minutes of this whilst I was fixing dinner and ended up watching the whole show. Its is stupid, and proud of it. There's no annoying wannabees showing off, just that guy Steve slobbing around annoying the hell out of the girl. I'm not saying I'm going to watch every show as the novelty factor will most likely wear pretty thin but I haven't laughed that much at the TV for a while.
I wanted to watch this just once to see if there was any potential in it....but God was it bad. Really, really bad. And seeing where it was going....it looks like it's going to get even worse, to the point where it's really uncomfortable. Maybe some people can go for that....but I find nothing really compelling in this (neither him nor her are very interesting; he's just acting the slob, and she's just a wide-eyed, overdone blonde who sobs too much). I was flipping it off after about 15 minutes. Don't think Fox has a winner here.
I watched it out of curiousity ... had some friends over and we wanted something to make fun of. you know the drill. I thought it could be kinda funny .... but my god it wasn't. won't watch it again. they'll get a big initial rating because of American Idol, but it will flounder and flounder big.
They aren't even "reality" shows anymore, they're game shows. Game shows with huge stakes. A million dollars? Ridiculous.
Fair enough comments, no danger of it winning any awards. I just though that guy was a clown. If you wanted to piss off some prissy little sorority girl thats how you would do.
I started watching it last night because I though it might've been funny. It started off badly, and then got worse. Fox featured too much of the "bride" and not enough of the fat obnoxious fiance. I was so bored with it I switched to C-Span to watch the Iowa caucuses.
I thought there were some funny lines.....but, at the same time I didn't watch the whole thing.....Meet the Parents was on another channel and I got sucked into that during one of the (many) commercials.
