My friend goes to grad school out in Ft. Collins, CO and she really into country music (I know). She kinda mentioned that she wouldn't mind a personalized cd of some good country songs. I know hardly no country songs and was wondering if there are any smart people that could help me. (She already has everything by the Dixie Chicks, that is all I know.)

Just pushing this to the top. If you don't want to look like a country music lover, you couple PM me with some info on what to download for her.

Tell her to see Leghorn if she can, they're a Ft. Collins cow-punk band; I'm not sure if they're still around or not but I saw them a few times this summer at the Starlight.

Fill it up with any tune from these albums:

Lambchop - How I Quit Smoking

    Lambchop - Hank

    Lambchop - I Hope You're Sitting Down

    Scud Mountain Boys - Massachusetts

Health & Happiness Show - Tonic

    Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline

Willie Nelson - almost anything, but if you're going for romance, "Always On My Mind", "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground", "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", and many, many more. For non-romance, "On The Road Again" should be mandatory for the beginning of EVERY road trip; also "Whiskey River" (my heart thrills when I hear the opening bars!), "Crazy" (he wrote it, not Patsy Cline!), and his entire collection. I'm humming the title tune to his latest cd, but can't remember the name (I'm known for this!), but it's a little too sad - I'd skip that one. Try www.willienelson.com!

Willie transcends the strictly country label, just ask ANY ONE who has been to his concerts.

One of my ten favorite albums ever. An absolute gem.
