Lainez yellow cutting off a counterattack after an excellent bit of attacking by him almost creates the game winner.
Correia on crutches and Soler left the game injured. This may mean some starts coming up for Musah if they can't return immediately. Correia at the very least seems out for at least most of the rest of the season.
Wass straight red taking down Lainez, when it wasn't necessary. Musah slides into the middle, and Valencia's midfield nightmare continues, though the ref is considering downgrading to a yellow on VAR.
Last drive forward, Musah overcooks a pass into the corner to Guedes, but still draws a final corner kick chance.
Full time, draw against a superior side that required overcoming a couple of injuries. Still don't understand why this team aren't better. Possible start next match with the injuries.
Musah starts vs Osasuna after a couple of injuries for the squad last match force some lineup changes. Valencia hovering just 4 points above the "teams really scared about relegation zone," 8 points above the relegation zone.
50 yard diagonal dribbling run by Musah diagonally across the offensive zone as the defense sags, but ends in a cross by Gaya at the goalkeeper. Osasuna gave him a lot of room there.
Osasuna go up 1-0. Goal kick toward Musah, he fights for it but defender's header goes straight to the striker, who lays off diagonally behind the defense to Javi Martinez, who finishes. Whole sequence took ten seconds max. Musah with very marginal blame - guess he could have won that header.
1-1 on an awesome assist and finish. Guedes got the ball 35 yards out, had Musah open on the wing, but went for a touch chip behind the defense that Garniero ran onto and hit a great half volley to equalize. Musah draws a hard foul on the sideline just after the goal.
And Osasuna score almost right away on a "play out of the back" mistake on the opposite side of the field from Musah. Back down 2-1. Gaya mostly to blame, I think. No they have a matching set of letting up goals by playing out of the back as well as hoofing a goal kick downfield.
Musah subbed out in the 52' for Lee Kang-In as part of a double switch. Played OK, but needs to find a way to impose himself more on the game from the wing (or find a manager who doesn't play him there). Still down 2-1, and shutting down the PBP.
Musah starts against Alaves. Valencia are beaten up with injuries. A win might feel like it cements staying up. Musah at right mid in their usual 4-4-2, scoreless at half.
It continues to pain me that Musah is one of the most versatile players on this team, yetalways gets used in the same spot. Just had a nice dribbling run ending in being fouled.
Musah part of a great six man buildup that ends with Guedes making a great play to roll a cross across the six yard line that everyone misses. Musah ran too deep anticipating a ball even closer to goal.
Goal Valencia - 1-0. Play came up the left, but a quick reaction and deft touch gy Guedes put it on a platter or Gameiro. Potential offside VAR check.
Well, this sucks. Goal overruled on VAR, and Cheryshev comes on for Musah. I think Javi Garcia has been bad for this team and for Musah personally as a manager. Not impressed.
Huesca need a goal to avoid relegation - and you wouldn't necessarily know it to see how they're playing.
Musah scores on a late counter! But he was offside, as was the guy who would have had the assist. They both got fooled by the keeper being way upfield in the offensive box on a corner - they were clearly keeping themselves onside vs. the last defender, but without a keeper behind him, oops. Then ref blows the final whistle just as Valencia's striker beat his man to be 1 v 1 on the keeper 25 yards out, taking away their chance to win. Nice to know Musah can finish a 20 yard shot with no defender or keeper in front of him, though.
Musah warming up against Alaves. 51st minute, Miazga started for Alaves in his debut. 2-0 Valencia. Three Valencia players jogging around like the potential first subs.
