Musah all games PBP thread

Beautiful goal to make it 3-0 disallowed by VAR for offside - amazing how many offside calls are so close - and Valencia at least have some chance still. Valencia make two more subs, and may have switched formations to a 4-3-3 with Musah switching to the wide right up top.

 

I'll revise - looks like it's still a 4-4-2, just that Musah switched sides with the new subs on.

 

Musah beats Casemiro in a clever a 1 v 2 that could have been dangerous - no call on a cleat-to-cleat hit, but Musah stays down for a minute.

 

Wins a defensive header at the back post that would have been dangerous if not for him. But they never really threatened to make up the 2-0 deficit - basically no really good opportunities.

 

Musah started and played 54 minutes at left midfield. Left down 1-0 after a red card by Diakhaby led the manager to sacrifice Musah for an additional defender. They went down 2-0 seconds later anyway.

 

On the bench.

 

Miusah omes on in the 85th. Has kind of been all over the place as they chase the game down 1-0. Settling in on the right wing now.

 

Not a lot to report - with fresh legs, had a couple of moments where he looked at a higher speed than the rest of the guys on the field, but Valencia struggled to get anything more than an incredibly speculative shot or two late.

 

Valencia vs Real Betis - Musah subs in in the 9th minute for Correia - assuming an injury but wasn't watching.

 

Looks like right midfield in a 4-4-2, his most common position for them.

 

Musah rolls a cross across the six yard box, cleared.

 

They went down 1-0 just after Musah came on, by the way, but equalize in the 24th.

I am very puzzled by his performance out there. He is walking around on defense like he just took an Ambien.

 

Down 2-1 just before the half via a brilliant Canales goal, no Musah content.

 

Musah tries the old pass to yourself on the right side of the defender while sprinting around their left, but doesn't get the foul call on what was arguably a yellow card foul. Oh well.

 

Musah just plays with more intensity for the US than for Valencia. I think he hates the wing.

 

Lucky handball PK gives Valencia the chance to equalize - and Soler makes it. 2-2.

 

Musah incredible 50 yard pass up the sideline to Guedes almost sets something up, but Guedes' cross is blocked. That was a little lucky.

Triple sub for Valencia and role rearrangement, as Wass moves into the middle and Musah stays wide right. I think the manager should be moving Wass back up to right mid and Musah into the middle, but he and I don't apparently have the same thoughts on his personnel.

 

Lainez has made two genuinely very good passes. Really don't want that guy to help win this game.

 

Musah awesome world class run through the defense - get ball at midfield, and dribbles through four players just inside the box, blasted shot too close to the keeper (Bravo). Rebound falls to teammate who can't keep it on frame on a super-quick reaction attempt that was difficult.

 

Musah good cross against a double team, but Guedes can only retain possession with it.

 

Valencia score the go-ahead, but called back for offside as the man making the assist started his run a second too early.
