Mangione's grandpa founded the Washington Diplomats. So clearly Cruyff taught this young man all about praxis.

Not exactly what I meant. Apparently he dropped contact with his friends a few months ago since his back pain had gotten worse. If what he writes about his mother is true then he must have felt desperate and worried that he would never get better.

From the CNN article that @argentine soccer fan posted earlier: https://www.yahoo.com/news/suspected-unitedhealthcare-ceo-killer-planned-093144487.html

Such findings might not have emerged without the synergy between police, the media and the public.

“For just over five days, our NYPD investigators combed through thousands of hours of video, followed up on hundreds of tips and processed every bit of forensic evidence — DNA, fingerprints, IP addresses and so much more — to tighten the net,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

She credited the media for publicizing the case and lauded members of the public who came forward with tips.

10 shooting victims with half of Thompson's income in aggregate wouldn't have gotten a tenth of the resources expended here. Not saying cops shouldn't do everything possible, but they should do everything possible.

Vassar is eminently capable of providing an Ivy League education. Penn produces abject morons who buy their way through school. Relegate them.

I don't know if this is the point, but there is a point where it is the only solution. Otherwise it is too easy to just ignore what is going on.

We have talked a lot about the lost young men of this generation and how they've been red-pilled and are not partaking in society,
but one thing I don't think we've mentioned is that over a third of them are medically disabled and are regularly taking pain medication, usually prescription strength. And an ever increasing number of them are turning to violence in the form of killing themselves. A lot of the political tragedy of modern times is a result of a health tragedy that no one is even thinking about fixing.

Thing about an article like this is that it gives insight and advice on improving ones chances to get away with it.

Cops are the worst at copping. Their closure rates for everything is abysmal, and the amount of innocent's they ruin is out of control.

It's a bit of a hobby horse of mine. Any school that can produce the stupidest man in America should not be in the Ivies, ipso facto.

I'm not saying that there isn't a problem, but ~33% are medically disabled? With respect to suicide rates, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention had the following:

Significant increases in suicide rates occurred from 2020 to 2021 for males aged 15–24 (from 22.4 to 23.8), 25–44 (28.3 to 30.0), 65–74 (24.7 to 26.1), and 75 and over (40.5 to 42.2). From 2001 through 2021, male suicide rates were consistently highest in those aged 75 and over and lowest in those aged 10–14

Now, as I did a little more reading, I realized that you may be referring to mental health. This site:

    https://aibm.org/research/male-suicide/

provide some summary findings. However, the highest rate is in older men, not younger men.

Once again, I don't disagree that it's a problem for young men...not sure it's at a level of a health tragedy...

Even and especially if they were Penn undergrads taking finance classes with Wharton faculty. Posers.

Quick note to say that while suicide is of course the worst outcome for any cohort, the effect of recent years on young men is negative overall, inclusive of but not limited to suicide.

When looking at behavioral health issues, you can't just rely on diagnoses of anxiety, depression, etc. Not with the huge stigma attached to them. There are a bunch of folk who are undiagnosed, officially.

But you can overlap the above data with other markers that might signify BH issues. You could look at rates of injection drug use, overdoses, overdose deaths, naloxone usage, viral Hepatitis B and C (especially C), homelessness, and drug charges. That's just a few. You add all those up and you'll see that men, especially those under 40, aren't having a great time of it. There is some differences when you look at the granularity of it by location, but overall, not a good time.
