Re: ... moderator's note ... to pose a serious question... IF I were to start a "less serious" official PRE match thread would THAT get stuck? Or is the sticky reserved for only "serious" threads? If you do not sticky it, it would automatically reserve the thread to second rate status and would in effect kill the idea DOA. We should try a second pre-game thread where people can have fun and actually enjoy themselves without having to post some moronically optimistic score line. (That being said, DC wins this game 2-1 )
Re: ... moderator's note ... To answer quite seriously, you should read the charter: I think that answers your question, and also points out that (strictly speaking) moronically optimistic scorelines have no place in official match threads either. (Indeed, if you ask me scorelines without any analysis to support them have no place here.) So you should watch for some experimentation this season with threads in addition to the official thread. By the way, sticky threads tend to be ignored. It's counter-intuitive but true.
Re: Official DC United vs Columbus Crew PRE Match Thread Fair enough my friend. I created an UNOFFICIAL pre game thread. Even without a sticky it could be fun and useful this season. I will get over my lack of stickiness.
Re: Official DC United vs Columbus Crew PRE Match Thread I thought I should split this out from the analysis thread since it was so off-topic. Anyway, both threads are still up. We'll see how it goes. Maybe it'll work. Maybe it won't. Maybe we'll learn something and do it better next week.
Re: Official DC United vs Columbus Crew PRE Match Thread Maybe you could take the banter posts out of the official one and move them to the lighter, cooler thread to demonstrate the difference. There are plenty
