Sorry if this has already been posted, but Mulrooney is listed on the 18 man roster for the US/Mex game. Thats awesome. Hopefully I'll get to see him play.

Mulrooney has been called in a couple of other times, but how often did he actually play? I seem to recall one time at right back, but nothing else. The story I saw on soccer365.com lists him as a midfielder, which would be an interesting development. Competition for Pablo?

Donovan getting called up is pretty much a non-event at this point. It would only be story if we *wasn't* called up.

Mulrooney has 5 caps, 1 since the World Cup. His last appearance was vs. Canada at Lockhart, when he came in at midfield when Mastroeni got hurt. Most other appearances have been at right back.

First of all, I just hope that neither of them get injured playing against Mexico.

Mulrooney actually played in the midfield last year when the US played Mexico in Denver (I believe Armas was rested). He played quite well. It'd also be interesting to see if Mulrooney gets another shot at the RB as both Armas & Mastroeni are in camp. Interestingly, Sasha Victorine is not invited and he's been tried at RB...

Interesting.. but a bit worrisome. Donovan will be tough enough to replace this summer, Mulrooney too may be too much on top of that.

Yeah, but Bruce warned Donovan not to get complacent, so we can't get complacent and take it for granted either. :)

I've got a question. If they both or either one of them play against Mexico on the 8th, will they be available to play for the Quakes on the 10th against Chicago?

Donovan yes because we really can't afford not to play him, assuming he's up for it.

Richard, probably, becuase he has only seen limited minutes as a sub (recently) with the Nats, so he should still be fresh.
