MSNBC's sports year in review totally ignores soccer. It doesnt mention a snip about soccer. Not the world cup or mls cup. Nothing. Its unbelievable. This has been the biggest year ever for soccer in the USA with the world cup success and 61k at the mls cup final. Yet it mentions things like the wnba finals and tennis and cycling. That kind of bias is plain unfair. I already sent them an email, I suggest everyone do the same. Here is the link to the article: http://www.msnbc.com/news/spt_front.asp?launch=/news/wld/sports/brill/yearinsports2002.htm&ta=y
Remember: it's ms .... N. B. C. If the US men had done well in the OLYMPIC soccer tournament, they would've mentioned it.
The nominations for Knee-Jerk of the Year include.... Huh. That's funny. http://www.msnbc.com/news/XMORESPORTS_Front.asp?cp1=1 First Story: What a year for U.S. soccer teams http://www.msnbc.com/news/851431.asp See for yourself. Meanwhile, this story doesn't contain a reference to soccer, but please direct your emails to Steve Wilstein of the Associated Press, who actually wrote it.
Huh, good catch. BOTH stories actually originate from AP. But the soccer article doesn't have an author that I can see. I'll admit I didn't click on the link before making my comment about the Olympics.
Re: The nominations for Knee-Jerk of the Year include.... First Story: What a year for U.S. soccer teams http://www.msnbc.com/news/851431.asp Too bad this story says the Galaxy beat the Crew in the MLS Cup final.
Damn that MSNBC for carrying that Adu article! Maybe they were just trying to throw us off the scent.
I know this is off topic, since the Olympics were held in 2000, but didn't the men get to the semi-final match against Spain?
heres the email I wrote: I hope you got your rocks off purposely ignoring soccer on your year end sports review. You probably did it hoping to recieve responses from people like me. Well, I hope you laugh now that your reading this. Your a joke of a sports department and you have no credibility. tootles.
BigSoccer EXCLUSIVE! MSNBC 2003 Sports Preview: 1st January, 1:45 pm - I kick falcon6 in the nuts fto comemmorate his 100th idiotic complaint about the media so far in the new year.
Re: Re: MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer. I don't think falcon6 knows what the word "friend" means.
Re: Re: Re: Re: MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer. Dam, remind me to never post a copy of an email I send on here. Lighten up everyone.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer. Do you really think his rant to MSNBC will do anything to "save soccer?" I've seen 11 year olds write better than that.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer. Probably a good idea for you not to post it, especially if you want us to take you seriously.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer. That was more of a raving than a ranting. Ranting tends to be at least mildly coherent.
This is the response I received: Thanks for your email. It was an oversight on our part as we have recieved many emails sighting this. Thanks, MSNBC Sports Department
