MSNBC sports year in review totally excludes soccer.

Discussion in 'Business and Media' started by falcon6, Dec 26, 2002.

  1. MSNBC's sports year in review totally ignores soccer. It doesnt mention a snip about soccer. Not the world cup or mls cup. Nothing. Its unbelievable. This has been the biggest year ever for soccer in the USA with the world cup success and 61k at the mls cup final. Yet it mentions things like the wnba finals and tennis and cycling. That kind of bias is plain unfair. I already sent them an email, I suggest everyone do the same. Here is the link to the article:

Remember: it's ms .... N. B. C. If the US men had done well in the OLYMPIC soccer tournament, they would've mentioned it.

Huh, good catch. BOTH stories actually originate from AP. But the soccer article doesn't have an author that I can see. I'll admit I didn't click on the link before making my comment about the Olympics.

I know this is off topic, since the Olympics were held in 2000, but didn't the men get to the semi-final match against Spain?

Hey, they mentioned Serena Williams. Wasn't Bruce considering calling her up to play left back?

Yep. That will show them. I'm sure they're quaking, especially with the "tootles" ending.

I don't think falcon6 knows what the word "friend" means.

Do you really think his rant to MSNBC will do anything to "save soccer?"

I've seen 11 year olds write better than that.

Probably a good idea for you not to post it, especially if you want us to take you seriously.

That was more of a raving than a ranting. Ranting tends to be at least mildly coherent.

  23. This is the response I received:

Thanks for your email. It was an oversight on our part as we have recieved many emails sighting this. Thanks,
